How does one get even with the utility company....

I have had 5 blackouts in 1 1/2 weeks for a total of 27 hours. Their service has always been horrible but this is too much.

These things cost me. Ideas? I mean good, serious ones?

Yes! But I'm not supposed to reveal those type of Hypothetical Ideas to the general public! Otherwise it would make the Blackout look like a joke! Considering what could really be done in the future!

Put a T on the gas pipe before the meter and split your house in 2. This way you won`t have a ZERO bill and get a red flag. Also, depending on you electrical service outside (the wire and box that connects to the telephone pole wire) You can Tap a cable BEFORE the electrical meter to a sub panel anywhere in your house. Also splitting it up to not raise a red flag.

My suggestion is putting the heat/AC units on the devices I mentioned, for starters. Maybe your laundry or hotwater heaters, but don`t get too greedy. remember red flags...

Also, I looked into the solar electric stuff. It`s not the best idea. It does`nt save that much money, and it`s very expensive.
One of the nations largest gas lines runs through the property. If they piss me off some more, I will consider tapping into it.

If I screw up..............sayonora(sp).

Even better, Start charging them rent. lol

It might not do much to save you money but I always find it rewarding to pay the bill in person with rolls of change. If they say that they can't accept it then ask to see the posted notice saying that they can't accept change as a payment. If they accept cash then they have to accept change.

If they refuse to accept the change ask for a manager and tell them that you want it in writing that you attempted to make a payment and they refused it.

SDGE charges a nifty little thing called a distribution fee for delivering the electricity to you. Last month the bill was $103.17 and the distribution fee was $34.19. Is that a rape or what? I have the rolls of pennies, nickles and dimes ready to go when the due date rolls around. Those fuckers cringe everytime I walk through the door to pay the bill.

The lawsuits for last week's blackout have already been filed in NY. It's class action type so you could jump on that bandwagon to recoup your losses.

Either that or build a log cabin in the woods and live like our people did 200 years ago.

I'd be surprised oif it were classa ction, given the variety of idfferentlosses: personal , theft, business inerruption etc.

Most people have insurance. Businesses do. So the insurance will pay, and then the lawsuits will be subrogation cases. Should be interesting.

T-boy...depends what you mean by revenge

People are suing for a power outage? Geez.........I have a dozen outages a month sometimes, many just last long enough to jack things up.

Have 3 UPS units and battery back up on several devices.

I hate the utility company and the phone company....purely because they are both horrible.

The people suing lost mainly personal stuff as a result of the blackout. Many families lost weeks worth of food to the blackout, restocked when the power was restored, and lost that too in the subsequent outages. It pays to keep your receipts. Some had sewage backups causing damage from the power loss.

Well asides from going to them afterhours and smearing paint stripper all over there door handles in order to burn there fingers up and possibly blind them.....

Heres what I did to the water dept:

Several years ago a line broke on the other end of my property. It was winter time and I didnt get down that way very often. At the same time they had a line opened up working on it and told me the pressure might be low. So 4 days go by and Icall them and ask when it would be done and they said it was done 3 days ago and I still had low press. I was like, fuck! When they turned it back on, the surge blew a cap off on the other end of the property and I lost almost 1million gallons. Put it this way, it filled a pond up that don't hold water.

So then I get this nice bill for $945.00 I think it was. Well , I thought id try to get a break from this so I had to schedule a meeting with them in front of the board. Not only would they not agree to cut the costs, they threatened to shut my water off if I didnt pay it immediately and didnt even want to break it up in payments. Since it was after the meter, it was my responsibility. Well after breifly consulting an attorney, I ended up fucking paying for it.

Ha ha fuckheads--well this summer they send me all this paperwork for me to sign giving them the right to dig up my front yard and install a bigger line. It wouldve went right thru my damn orchard, dug thru tree roots of a tree that is a landmark, etc. I refused to sign it. They told me it was because of low water pressure. Yeah fucking right. You assholes just want to sell more $3500.00 water meters. In fact, they threatend to take me to court because I have an old trailor next door that is a hobby trailor and runs off my meter. But no one lives there. So I disconnected it and ran a separate line from outback and they dont know about it.

So anyways they come out, wanting to know if I got the paper work and I said yep, and you can fucking forget it. You can either take it accross the street out into the field or go behind my property and follow the property line. I forced them into the 2nd option, which changed there path from a straight line to covering the perimeter and it used an extra 800 linear footage of pipe, not to mention much extra labor.

Ha ha fuckheads, I guarantee you spent more than my fucking $945.00 water bill!
