Like Havoc Said. You have to advertise it all the time. This will be the time for learing which styles of advertising work best for you, which medium is the most effective. I can tell you rightoff the back that Radio is a waste of time for the cost/benefit ratio for the small business, unless you own a nightclub type of business. TV can be effective but again it's a let's do it and see approach. Point is that you will not find the "one" thing to do for promotions, you will have to have the whole gammit going pretty much all the time.

Then there is the cumulative effect of advertising but that's a whole different story.

Getting in shape to go to the beach with their gym towels or water bottles. Giving free tshirts to the members who are in shape. (hey bro, can you send me a tshirt from your gym?) Giving out front vanity plates for hot cars. Etc..

My gym has an ad in a local free magazine....that's it....

The Central YMCA does "contests" where you keep track of your workouts for 12 days around Christmas & you get a Tshirt with their logo & a Xmas theme, etc on it....they were neat to do

LOL!!

No, he wants more people to come to the gym, not run away at warp speed.
