How do you warm-up for a deadlift workout??

I'm up to 350 for 5x5 which I'll be doing tomorrow. I first stared at 315 for 5x5. I've been doing a set of 8 with 225 first and then going straight to the working weight, but is that enough warm-up. What is your general process. Should I be doing a couple warm-up sets before using the main weight? Any stretching prior to doing the deads?
 
when i was doin 5x5 i got up to 315, my warm up looked like...

135x12
225x10
275x8

then 5x5

it liked it. :)
 
The day that I did 702...I did the following

Bar x 5
140 x 5
230 x 3
320 x 1
410 x 1
500 x 1
590 x 1
702 x 1

B-- how come your increments dont go up in the same way-- I mean like instead of just adding 90lbs on each lift...theyre like 90, 85, 117 at the end???

& a 702 deadlift is frickin amazing :)

Actually...it should have been 90 pounds up to 590. I did a typo and put 585. I do lots of warm ups and I wasn't about to go for 680 before trying 702...what is the point? I had already done 7 warm ups...why do another heavy set and decrease the chances of me pulling over 700?

Thanks for the compliment...but 700+ on the dead isn't all that impressive for a powerlifter or a Pro Strongman.

A 702 deadlift? Damn!

IMO you should probably drop the sets of 8. Just do a set of 5 with 225, a set of 3 with say 275 then a single with 315. You should be good to go assuming your form's tight.

are those 5 hard worksets or is that dino style 5x5 (2 easier sets then 3 hard ones)

I use the same basic idea when I warm up. I just see no reason to do anymore reps.
