How do you resize avatar pictures without distorting them?

Im using Infraview however when I go to resize say my avatar now from 100 x 120 to a full 150 x 225 which is the maximum size for my avatar it distorts.

i don't have that software, but with any software, you have to constrain the proportions. you may not end up with an exact size though.

just reduce the largest size down.

Same here pin.. its fine if you do like Stilleto said and have a large pic and make it smaller however when you save a jpeg to your pict file it automatically defaults the size to under 1 jpeg

Silly, don't set both dimensions. Set either the width or the height, and let Irfanview set the other automagically to retain proportion.

See the "Preserve Aspect Ratio" check box? Check that.

Now, take your picture, and enter "225" in the height box. Irfanview will set the width. If it's over the 150 limit, go back and set the width to 150 and let Irvanview set the height automatically.
