When I started my current job, about a year and half ago, it was the most exciting job I've had to date. I was always busy, learning, doing, etc... I worked extra hours everyday (I'm on salary so I don't get paid extra for it) always looked for new projects, etc....
Although we're world wide, headquarters (where I am at) has about 200 employees in the entire building. So I get to butt my nose in many different departments and dable in many things that I would probably not get a chance to do in other companies. So to say the least, I wear many hats here.
Well, as time went on, I got used to the routine, I learned most of the things that were of interest to me and becasue of a bit of a disapointmen about the size of my raise on my last review, I think I became a little disgruntled and stopped doing many of the extra things I used to do.
Now, I show up, I sit at my desk, do about 2-3 hours of actual work all day (although they still think that I bust my ass) and wait for the time to pass by.
There is big growth potential here for me in my career, so I would like to stick around for a while, but if I don't find a way to get my head back into it or get promoted or acquire new duties, Ijust don't know how I'm going to holdup much longer. I am either going to go insane (almost ther already) and quit or they are going to catch up with my recent slackeries and fire me.
What do you guys do to keep yourselfs motivated at your job?
