How did you meet the girlfriends you have had previously......you couldn't be that shy. As you get older your confidence also gets a boost.

But, just be yourself. There are just as many shy girls out there as there are guys, but because we have to do the approaching, it's more difficult

Are you in college now? Take some liberal studies classes with a high proportion of females. If you live in a town with a big university, get a job at a place right next to the school where a lot of living-on-campus girls work also. First-year college girls are notoriously quick to hook-up.
