how do you get rid of used pins?

Dont tell me you put them into your mama's garbage pale and wait till she throws it out on Thursday.

I keep mine in two plastic bags and then take them to the dentist's office about 2 blocks from where I live. He knows what I am doing and is happy that I am clean about it. His office is happy to dispose of them for me.

I would not want the garbage man poked in the arm with one of my pins. NY garbage men are pissed off as it is.

what do you do with yours?

Thats alot more than most of us do I would bet. I must admit I just wrap them up in aluminum foil and toss em in the trash.

You guys go through way too much trouble. Just do what I do... Take an empty 20oz plastic water bottle and throw the needles in there. I dispose of all my broken amps, needles, and syringes in those plastic water bottles. When it gets full, just throw it away with your other trash (make sure the caps on of course). No wrapping aluminum foil, no trips to the dentist or doctor, etc. Simple and easy.

That's exactly what I do and I write "BIOHAZARD" on the bottle with a Sharpie.

Being on the road full time makes it a little challenging for me, but I'm starting to notice sharps disposal containers in public bathrooms more and more. When it fits my schedule and I am flying out of an airport that I know has them I'll drop them each Friday (before I go through security). When that isn't convenient I drop them in a real sturdy plastic container, usually an 11 oz Soy Milk bottle. Those bottles are thick and tough and I have no worries about the cleaning people in the hotel getting stuck.

It is critical to be safe with your used needles. If you just wrap it up some poor guy is gonna be jamming a bag down and will wind up with a 1.5" 23 guage needle through his hand.

Great way of doing it. My friend is a nurse and I asked her if I could give them to her to get disposed of , but she said they get charged a lot to get rid of the sharps.

That what I do. That or an old milk jug.
