How do you feel about Seatte?

My sis lives there and is pretty happy about it. Moved there from the midwest. She says the rain sucks but it is amazing throughout other times of the year. My fam is kinda big into the outdoors/nature, etc. and she has sent me some awesome pics. She likes to hike and there is some cool shit within a few hours either way.

Why are you relocating? Job opportunity?

seema like a bland, dull, rain-prone city.

BUT

when you live in new orleans, EVERY other city seems dull and bland by comparison. :lmao:

you and thinking NO is the center of the earth
just the center of MY earth, dood. :coffee: :coffee:

many years ago, i recall my mother (or was it me?) asking my adopted neighbor/godmother, a refined, uptown, native-new orleanier, why she didn't travel more in her well financed retirement, visit other cities and enjoy their scenery and culture.

her somewhat hauty, opinonated reply was "child, why should ah travel? ah ahm already HEAH!" :verygood:

Great city.

If you take a look here, (click avg. precip) this graph shows the annual rainfall of seattle vs. New Orleans. You will notice that NO is has significantly more rainfall. Especially in the summer months. 26in per year more rain in NO. 9/12 months of the year NO has more rain than seattle. Also, a lot of the rainfall in the mild winter months comes in the form of snow. Wa, has some of the best skiing in the US, totally under rated. With Mt. Baker holding the world record for most snowfall annually.

Yes, the springtime in seattle can be dark and wet, but the summer months are perfect. With may to september having an average high of 70-75 with very little rain and lots of sun.

Seattle does have poor traffic conditions.

Like any major city, there are nice areas and poor areas. But for the most part seattle is a great place. If you like the out doors and like to do stuff, then you will find tons of outdoor activities to do in seattle. Yes, you will also find quality weed. Check craigslist, no lie.

edit - on the graph I posted, you can change NO, to match your current city to see a comparison

well if seatle is anything like walking into a starbucks then i wish you the best of luck! i hate starbucks and and everyone that hangs out there...my customers ask me if i want to meet at starbucks i tell then no we can do it in my car hahahaha

LOL! Other places do get more rain than Seattle, it's true. But, Seattle's rain is the fine, misty type of shit that starts in late Sept. and doesn't end until late June. It rains MOST of the year, just not the huge downpours that N.O. (and other midwest cities) gets.

Snow? In Seattle? Rarely. Usually it is not cold enough to snow...oh but it sure will fuckin rain. Sun? You'll not see that sucker for over half the year. I remember one year (early 97 I believe) when it rained for over 45 days straight.

75 degrees in May? Nigga please! More like 57 you dyslexic bastard! lol. And LOL at "very little rain".

Seattle is a great place to visit between July-Sept. Very beautiful during those months. Sunny, green, clean water, clean air, beautiful mountain an hour away, lakes, Puget Sound, Pacific Ocean an hour away. Lots to do. PLenty of outdoor activities. In the Spring/Fall - not so much (unless you like doing outdoor activities in the rain). Winter? Skiing.

Take the info from the folks that have lived there or do live there, not from someone who visited and liked it, or pulled some info off the interwebs (probably Seattle chamber visitor site). Hopefully they won't sugar coat it (lie).

Best thing I ever did was move away from Seattle.

I liked Seattle, but I usually only go between June-August so I dunno what the weather is like the rest of the time.

I totally agree with you ceo about the rain. It does come down light and rains very regularly, unlike many other areas that rain less frequently but greater total volume.

I did read the graph incorrectly. The average high in May is 65, not 70. With 2in of rain. Compared to NO that gets 4.5 (weather.com)

I was referring to snow falling up in the mountains, not in the city itself, which is also positive attribute.

I've also spent the majority of my life living in the PNW. So I'm not just a visitor.

Last time I went I saw a hilarious fight between an asian lady (she was selling flowers in the market) and a big black woman (trying to buy flowers).

Asian lady kept yelling "you get out of here!"

Black woman kept yelling "you ugly, you ugly!"

lol

It's pretty cool. Lotta different trouble to get into. Depends on where you are planning on living specifically.

If you like outdoor activities, we've pretty much got it all.

Hey rancher, how far do you have to drive for some good snowboarding, rock climbing or white water rafting?

all black tar heroin too, fvck that stuff

and lol@ good weed
It's everywhere nowadays, just gotta know the right peeps

I'll be staying in my uncles guest house on Lake Sammamish? Ishaqua... not 100% on spelling.. he makes a nice living but i'm not trying to scrap off him, just need a jumpstart for what i'm going there to do. Besides I really don't care, it's such a nice house and he retired years ago, he's been trying to get me to live out there for years. Probably my fav relative, hot girlfriend, girlfriends daughter is hot, so I think i'll be content for awhile.

Yep, you can get good weed anywhere. You just have to pay for it.

meh even the paying for it is getting cheap up this way.
good chron around here is 250 a O...and it's whip.
in other places that would go for 350 all day.
or so my friend tells me

Yep, good prices on the west coast.

back in my college days in Arizona, some crazy canadian buddies would get an ounce sent down through the mail. In BC the going rate is around 200 per oz. They would sell the stuff they got sent down for 20 per gram, (560$/oz.). To make a long story short, it didn't workout that great for them, quite a few of the shipments never made it past the border, and eventually the DEA(etc.) showed up at the school and didn't have very good news for them. Then ended up hopping on a flight back to canada, and that's the last I heard of them.

True story.

weather conditions in Cali are phenominal for greenery agriculture, year round, continual generations of strains grown

plants are just like humans, every generation the DNA gets more adaptive and stronger, when conditions let you harvest 4-6 times a year outdoors for the last 50+ yrs, Cali had a headstart to fluster first before the rest of the states

pretty much why indoors is the best way, besides being the safest/fastest/easiest/controlled cond.

What is it with you suthners?
It just depends on what you're into.

Outdoor rec? WA>>>>>TX

lol, tx is a massive state with the most geographically diverse land and climates. mountains, desert, hill country, steppe, plains, sub-tropical, brush, forest, beaches, we got it all.
