How do you feel about collateral damage when bombing other countries??

I feel that innocent lives should be spared, but I wouldn't exactly call people who support a tyranical government innocent. If some bystanders happen to perish, that's why "war is hell." There is no way we can effectively attack our enemies without hitting a few civilians. Also, don't think that they won't hide behind women and children to give a guilt trip about attacking them.

I used to be completely against civilian deaths. But where is the line between civilian and military? Is it names on a roster that dictate civilian vs. military? Plain clothes or uniforms? Armed or unarmed? What if they knowingly assist their military, house them, feed them? What if they would kill an American in a heartbeat given the chance. Something about seeing a whole group of people celebrating when they hear that America was attacked makes me reconsider collateral damage.

Collateral damage is probably one big reason why this happened in the first place.

I agree that we have no choice but to retaliate, but what happens when the 1000's of human timebombs in our midst are given the go ahead to explode?

My sentiments exactly. If you want to participate in a terrorist society, prepared to get fucked up.

It is a necessary evil.

But remember this:

If and when we bomb them, those survivors will be just as angry and hurt as we are, and will want to seek revenge. The cycle of violence will continue until who knows when.

my thoughts exactly. take out one group, another gets hurt in the process....they retaliate.

Not quite, if you bomb them back to the stoneage, there's no possible way for them to retreat. IF we manage to take out all the trouble makers, this should stop the cycle of violence.

Regardless of the outcome.......it will be pure hell unlike any we've ever seen!!!! RADAR

When you say all the trouble makers do you mean all of the people that live there?

There is no such thing as a nice clean war.
In a war, innocent people will die, that is
inevitable.

The true question is, how will people react when
they start seeing pictures of children and women
killed in battle?
How strong will our resolve be?

If people are willing to go to war, you better
be ready to stand behind the men and women
of our armed forces.
Even when it gets dirty.

I don't really care how many Dead Arab's we create, they should have thought about that before they took our citizens and aircraft and turned them into weapons. They started this, we shall end it. KILL AS MANY AS POSSIBLE, NUCLEAR WEAPONS CAN BE USED. I don't want to see any more dead on our side so using thermal nuclear weapons would allow us to have the maximum stand off distance, and yet maximize the death toll.

As far as it goes for Surviors, I say bomb them again 7 days after the first strike. NO SURVIORS. TAKE NO PRISONERS, NERVE GAS AFTER THAT JUST TO CLEAN UP AFTER THE SECOND STRIKE.

MEGA DEATH TO OUR ENEMIES.

We have a choice, kill them or let them kill us. I'd rather kill baby terrorists and let our innocent babies live.

Sorry bro ... But the US Government has supported dictators and tyrants ... look it up ... the US government/the CIA has sold arms and missiles and other weapons to tryanical government ... that oppress their very own people. So now you know why this thing has happened .... the US gave arms and weapons and trained Bin Ladin .... THE US FOREIGN POLICY IS SCREWED UP ...

Just because we have made mistakes in the past, doesn't mean we can't learn from them and make up for them.

Agreed ...

We should learn from this painful lesson ... change our foreign policy.. and stop supporting wars that prop up tyrants and dictorators

If one good thing comes from this terror, I hope it is what you just stated. However, I am guessing that the opposite will happen unfortunately.
