How do you feel about collateral damage when bombing other countries??

I feel that innocent lives should be spared, but I wouldn't exactly call people who support a tyranical government innocent. If some bystanders happen to perish, that's why "war is hell." There is no way we can effectively attack our enemies without hitting a few civilians. Also, don't think that they won't hide behind women and children to give a guilt trip about attacking them.

I used to be completely against civilian deaths. But where is the line between civilian and military? Is it names on a roster that dictate civilian vs. military? Plain clothes or uniforms? Armed or unarmed? What if they knowingly assist their military, house them, feed them? What if they would kill an American in a heartbeat given the chance. Something about seeing a whole group of people celebrating when they hear that America was attacked makes me reconsider collateral damage.

Collateral damage is probably one big reason why this happened in the first place.

I agree that we have no choice but to retaliate, but what happens when the 1000's of human timebombs in our midst are given the go ahead to explode?

My sentiments exactly. If you want to participate in a terrorist society, prepared to get fucked up.

It is a necessary evil.

But remember this:

If and when we bomb them, those survivors will be just as angry and hurt as we are, and will want to seek revenge. The cycle of violence will continue until who knows when.

Not quite, if you bomb them back to the stoneage, there's no possible way for them to retreat. IF we manage to take out all the trouble makers, this should stop the cycle of violence.
