I dont know about you guys, but after a lifting session, i feel like im gonna lose it, much less think about eating more.

I down a shake right after, but feel sick for a few hours thinkin about it, so my question is, how do you guys take down hot food in summer (meat n stuff)? and can you live of shakes; i got 10 pounds of powder here!?

I don't think living off a shake is that good. I drink about 1/2 a glass of oj to restore blood sugar and then I eat a cold salad with tuna and eggs in it. Alway has been easy on my stomach

I know what you mean brutha

I have been eating that way since I remember how to eat. Ask Lord Suston what the plates in my parents house look like? lolololol

I usually have a weight gainer shake (930 cals, 55 prot, 125 carb), followed by a chicken or beef sandwich a while later.

But I like the sound of your post workout meal. I think I'll give that a whirl.:) Ya think swapping chicken for the tuna would be just as good?

yeah just as good, the only problem with having a shake is that it is short amino acids; so after about 45 minutes your body has digested them all and is starving for more protein. I like tuna cause it is cheap and the make em in pouches now,lol

I don't usually eat much after I work out. I have a large water and an apple or something like that. I'm trying to lose weight though, and I only work out for health/strength, not to get huge.

My appetite goes down after a workout, but I could easily eat as much as I want. That's never a problem for me.

I put a powdered milk/splenda combo in my coffee though. Tastes good.

I have a pretty standard 60g carb/30g protein shake immediately after my workout.

Anywhere between 1/2 an hour and 1.5 hours later I get my SWAIN on with whole foods.

I swained it today, downed a shake and said, screw u im goin to the buffet. Got 2.5 pounds of meat, chicken and crab, and am sitting with it now. Im full and 1.5 pounds left :{ lol

usually a shake then a good solid meal

but lately it's been a side of rice and tuna w/ prego sauce on the tuna

i use to puke all the time after my workouts. I remember driving home from the gym one day and throwing up my protien shake all over my lap. I never use to be hungry after working out, but now thats all i wanna do is eat afterwards.

Shakes are snacks.

I make sure I eat plenty of food.

After event training, we usually cook up some burgers; burgers and beer. One night, we didn't want to cook, so we stopped in at a nearby pizza joint and ordered a large pizza with A LOT of meat (sausage, bacon..etc.) and beer (of course).

eat light, non greasy foods before you lift!!!!!! I use to eat bacon and eggs before my lifts, and soon found out that was the wrong approach. Now i eat a couple pieces of burnt toast, and maybe a hard boiled egg and a bolw of cereal.

oh yeah..that reminds me, Im ordering out tonight, a 16" Hawian Delight!!!! It has bbq sauce chunks of chicken and pineapples.....fuckin great!!!!!!

I lift on my lunch break. As soon as I'm done I walk next door to the Kroger and get a half gallon of skim milk and a protein bar and spend the rest of my day at work downing it. Then I eat a couple of dinners at home. The milk has really helped me the last few weeks to add on some extra weight. I'm gonna keep it up.

Id suggest looking for ways to relax calm your nerves wait it out a little then when your heart rate is somewhat normal again SWAIN like a motherfucker! hehe

I have a shake right after, 45g Protein and 50 carbs, then an hour later 8 oz meat and some of the new pasta I've found, it has 30g Protein.

No shake here.

- one big chicken breast.
- a big bowl of natural oatmeal mixed with 25 g worth of protein from a good protein blend.
