How do you define yourself?

I asked my boss the other day about why he picked the line of work he does.

He told me that what he does in work does not define himself as a person, only what he does in life. That statement interested me.

So I ask: How can someone's personality not be influenced by what they do for a living, after all, most of us work 40+ hours a week. Thats a lot of time week after week, year after year.

Do you have a "work" personality and then have a "home" personality?

I think work, sadly to say, is chosen due to economic reasons. Money makes the world go round and for most people, their job is just a job and they dont bring it home with them.

For example, I have a good friend who deals a lot of drugs. He doesnt do them , he just tries to turn a dollar out of fifteen cents. is he a bad person? no. when we hang out he is one of the nicest, coolest motherfuckers around. He's not a "DRUG DEALER" in the sense that most people think of.

I know some assholes who are nice at work cuz they deal with customers who give tips..
