How do pro body builders keep from dropping dead?

I mean with all of the roids and HGH and other drugs they take, how do they live past 40? I know they have consistent blood work often however the taxation on the liver and heart has to be immense.....Discuss

It;s like abusing alcohol. Some will die young and others will live a long time. It definitely increases odds that something fatal will go wrong, just doesnt mean it will happen for certain. And many do drop dead before 50.

Dennis Newman stands out, due to the fact that roids triggered an advance in his Cancer.

yea..i definetly believe if you are pre-disposed to certain types of cancer (prostate, testicular, etc) or heart disease your definetly increasing your odds big time be using steroids.

Biteme is correct, I know I run at least 2 cycles a year however they are light in comparison to a pro... they shoot mega doses of everything and they almost never cycle and stay on all year long/

It takes a large toll if done incorrectly on the cardiovascular system.
But does show up for decades, but it will, just like babyboomers getting older and entering older decades, same with the people who abused steroids. It doesnt happen right away.
Like rheumatic fever, it just starts the process which will shorten lifespan over time due to congestive heart failure, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, hypertension with brittleness of arteries, hyperlipidemia.
It's not like shooting heroin where you can die overnight from respiratory arrest. The effects are cumulative and the disease process often takes decades to fully manifest itself

Would you consider 250 mgs of test a week for life too much?

good question, I wondered the same. I think some do die young, but then you look at other people who never did any drug and died young, so it just goes to show you, you never know. Its more important how you lived your life than how long you live
