How concerned should I be...

Ok forgive this post if this all sounds like simple paranoia and stupidity because part of it is. My father was diagnosed HIV positive when I was young and my mother has been tested negative multiple times since (they had been seperated for about 7 years before this occured) so my life has always been filled with paranoia concering the possiblity of infection.

Basically to make a long story short, I made out with a girl who's sexual history IS in question. Her ex boyfriend's ex-girlfriend was confirmed HIV positive a year after they had broken up and despite having unprotected sex with the boy, the girl I kissed was tested negative 5 months later. (I did NOT know this prior to kissing her).

So I kissed her about 2 weeks (slightly more than kissing but no sort of sex, oral or otherwise). Anyway later that night I woke up with an extremely sore throat and later that week developed a fairly bad cold. Now, I had been around at least 2 people that weekend who had colds so it could have been chance. I also recently developed a small rash on my stomach (which according to various websites can be a sign of accute infection). However, this is comounded by the problem that a few months ago I had a horrible allergic reaction to DNP and considering DNP is stored in adipose tissue, cutting *COULD* result in DNP being released into my body causing this reaction.

I'm well aware the only true way to know is to get tested so thats next on my agenda but what do you all think of my chances of contracting it from deep kissing?

Thanks for any and all responses and if this post seems foolish to you, my apologies, paranoia is just a part of my personality.

Good day. As I have said on this board many times before, what's the risk of infection for you. About the same as transmission from a dentist to a patient (one case in human history.) Get yourself tested, you are due anyway, and you will get counciling at the time too. Good luck and let us know either way. Thanks! Alan Chiras.
