So, the answer is: you can make your own beer. It would be much cheaper, and if you get really into it, un taxable. So why dont you? Because your beer would SUCK.

Not always. I recently drank a bottle of stout made by the husband of one of my co-workers, and was quite pleasantly surprised. It was good enough. Maybe not quite a Guinness, but at least a Watney's Stingo.

Just like when you buy seeds for vegetables at the store. If someone wants to grow marijuana they have to buy the seeds. So the seeds would be taxed when they are bought.

If someone wants to save their own seeds? Well, not if they want to smoke the good stuff that doesn't have seeds. I think we can just assume that people would prefer to just buy the dang-gone seeds at the store, than try to procure their own to avoid paying the tax on them.

I disagree with Chef on the quality issues. A first time grower can get seeds that were taken from a strain that won the Cannabis Cup and grow very high quality shit their very first time growing if they've done their research.

If it were legalized and cigarette companies got in on the action, the weed would be lower-quality/"schwag" weed (the brick-packed Mexican shit that grows in giant fields). It would take too much cash and effort to grow truly high quality bud outdoors on the type of scale needed to stock shelves all over the nation like cigarettes.

The average weed smoker may buy a pack of joints at the gas station, but there would always be a market for higher quality shit.

The real debate will be whether to treat weed like tobacco (18+, smoke in designated public areas, people taking weed breaks at work, etc.) or alcohol (21+, use in homes or bars only)

is true then what your previously said would not be true.

If there is a market then there you can bet on commercial suppliers meeting that demand (sooner or later it's inevitable).

Growing buds certainly has large limitations including the long period of time it takes for the buds to be ready, then the curing process and so on, not to mention smoking the same strain day in and day out. Not that great a prospect for the casual smoker.

What I'm saying is that if the nation started smoking weed like it currently does cigarettes, the weed used to make weed cigarettes would not be the highest quality available. However, you're right, someone might grow premium weed, but maybe it would be like premium tobacco now (think of cigarettes compared to fine cigars, the weed cigarettes would be schwag, the premium weed would be better carry a higher price tag).

If someone didnt meet the need for premium strains in a product like that, there would always be a black market for high quality shit.

... then the nations infrastructure would crumble like desicated SaraLee Pound Cake.

Your wrong about the quality issue. There would be the Budweisers of Dope and there would be the MicroBreweries of Dope and the Imports and Home brew kits, etc.

No way... if anything, tobacco and alcohol use might decrease, leading to improved health in the US. More people would be chill, less people on antidepressants and shit. Also, pot has been proven to have little to no effects on driving, so save that argument for the kiddie board muthafuckas.

2 Things:

- major cigarette companies already have claim to certain strains if herb goes legal

- I would never in a million inhale any govt. grown legalized herb, they will poison the living shizzle out of it
