hotels in los angeles

definitely going to be in LA for thursday night, checking the scene out. i could careless about the clubs. i'd just go try every restaurant i could find, most have a bar area anyways.

True enough.....I never really got into the "club" scene there. I am more of a hole in the wall, lower body count type person. I just don't dig the big crowds. Although "Dragonfly" on certain nights is definately something to witness! The first time I was there I was going into the bathroom and because the womens line was the length of the building and the men's was almost non-existant, two girls came to me while I was going in and started to kiss on me, telling the guys behind me that one was my girlfriend and the other was my GF's girlfriend, I used the stall and they used the urinal and the sink, then as a lil thank you they put on a short show for MOJO right there in the bathroom. (good times)

Cat and Fiddle is a real chill place to hang. It's right on the strip (set back so from the street it actually looks like and access way or small alley) with an outdoor bar and courtyard type area and is set up like a traditional English Pub....Again, Great food!

I went to some little hole in the wall place there that had apple burgers, or something like that. I'm trying to remember the name. it was tiny and had just one counter around the cooks, but it was a good little greasy spoon (for your cheat day, of course...lol). I will try to find the name.

I was there with a friend who competed on jeapardy. She got beaten by that guy who won all those weeks straight on there. it was lots of fun, though.

Don't forget to put on your tightest Under Armour gear then hit the Firehouse Grill in Venice.

Hmmmm...

Could it have been "Apple Pan" or "The Counter"?

Speaking of burgers, IMO the best burger in the free world is "Fat Burger" hands down.

Primativo is a good tapas place in Venice(i think or marina del rey), large wine list, regularly frequented by celebs that want to just be left alone.
Akbar is a good Indian place in Marina Del Rey, good wine list, very good food.
Musso and Frank as Mojo mentioned. Huge menu, landmark type restaurant.

You could stay at the Standard. http://www.standardhotel.com/

honestly the list is exhaustive. what type of food were you thinking?

deeznuts likes trying ethnic food (he was raised up on steak, shrimp, and chicken) so now he likes trying new places

one of his favorite places is a little cuban restaurant near little havania (sp?) in fl and many places in thessaloniki, greece mmmmmm

Again, you'll have no problem.....There is an absolutely unbelievable Armenian joint on Hillhurst, not only some of the best ethnic food that i've had, but some of the best food period. I never knew the name because the sign is for a photography studio above it, and again you have to be looking for the place to find it. it has an outter courtyard that hides it. It is owned by an Armenian family and the Mom and Grandma (in her 90's) do all the cooking and prep with a little help from the younger daughters and grand daughters. And accessible from the subway.

I would just use expedia or the like to find one....just have it look for the location you want. There are seriously decent hotels all over the place there, seems like every other block sometimes.

Did you try the Grafton?.... http://www.graftononsunset.com/
