i can't decide if i want one or not, and if i do, if i want to get an inexpensive, smaller one, or go all out (doubtful).

my sister (in law) bought a house and it had one. Her electric bill was off the wall due to having it on. Thing is huge!
If I were you I would look into how many people do you think will be in it at once, and also how often will you use it..If only you and hubby/wifey then a small one should be the best choice

We have a 6 person hot tub....it was only about $6,000 including upgrading the electric for it, etc......We use it more in the winter than in the summer - but I have used it in the summer just with the heat off (so it's more like a pool)......we use it a couple times a week and I don't think it adds too much to the heating bill.......

Mine is in my screened in patio area. Outside, but away from the bugs.

I use it quite often. I would love to sit in it and watch LOST each Wednesday.

If you get one, get one that cleans the water through ionized filteration means. So you don't have to put any chemicals in it. If you get one that you have to adjust the water with chemicals, you have to to shower after each use. Otherwise you smell funny. With ionized cleansing, you don't have to shower. Just hop out and go to bed.

2. Its a 6 man tub that never has more than two
3. Being from the south I drain it and clean it out during the summer
4. No real effect on the electric bill and I keep it at 100 degrees all winter
5. Absolutley love it...Use it 2-3 times per week on average.

Almost never use mine anymore. $$$ to keep it always at the ready in the winter and I am so hot natured I spend $150/week to ice down the small pool I have so I can stand to be outside in it 2-3 days a week.
