I have the s video cable and have hooked it up, but i can't get anything on my tv? I tried all the input options on the menu and still nothing.

Anyone got any advice?

we had this same thing happen and finally figured it out

let me ask and ill see if i can find out what we did. it was pretty simple but i dont remember

what ever the computer wire is fed into the TV should be labeled input 1,2,3,
video 1 2 3
yada yada
change it to the input that it is connected to

No, it's an S video cable. Only one S video cable input on tv.

here are my tv screen input options-

ant 1
vid 1
vid 2
colorstream 1 &2
hdmi 1
hdmi 2
ant 2

it's a toshiba 56" DLP if that matters?

What model is it? You may not be able to do so. Some Toshiba DLP manuals explicitly state NOT to connect them to PC's. I would think if that model was built for PC input there would be an input specifically labeled for PC.

My Samsung has such inputs. It has a VGA input for PC but it also says if you want to connect a PC using HDMI you MUST use the input labeled HDMI2 (there are 3).

first unhook the s-video cord then remove it from the computer so as not to get any cross electrical impulses transferred from one source to another then get a six foot dmi-x fully digital ready three source minimum refraisel shielded tuner cable they are the best money can buy nasa uses them on all the shuttle runs with no problems, you can pick it up at bestbuy for about 495.00 and get the five year extended warranty because if you have a pet like a dog or cat they will chew on it because it looks tasty to them. then hook one end to your computer straight to the input section labeled 'hook dmi-x cable here', then cut the other end and splice it into a s-video cord for best performance since it sounds like your tv is crappy and cheap and doesnt have up to date capabilities to accept computer inputs. use black electrical tape and wrap the splices real tight and then coat them with a eurothane epoxy coating because it is high voltage, around 2800 AC/DC. then just plug the s-video cord into the crappy old tv of yours and after turning it on adjust the rabbit ears, one pointing due west and the other point towards the person sitting closer to the tv. you should be able to surf the net for free now enjoy.

I have some duct tape and some JB weld, will that help?

That's weird. One of the reviews ststes that it doesn't have muli HDMI inputs, but mine has 3?
