Honda Prelude

For 12 grand you can get a nice 3 series bimmer with under a 100k miles on it. They are reliable cars (besides their electrical glitches), and handle great. A 328 or 325 will match the performance of a Prelude. BMW's aren't that expensive to maintain either, as long as you are willing to do the work yourself, and shop the internet for parts. There are lots of message boards and web sites that will help.

get the prelude with 4 wheel steering, they have a lot of hooked up cars on ebay, and you can find good deals there.

Preludes are good cars but expensive to buy and insure. I was looking at one a few years ago. Even the cars with 80-90k were over $10,000.00.. That plus the insurance on the things was alot. Insurance is high because it is rated in a class with sport cars, and all hondas are high theft cars. They are the most stolen and expensive to fix. Theyre good on gas and last a long time, but parts are out of hand compared to american cars..

Get a Msty GSX Eclipse.

Or a Scooby RS Impreza.

FWD (so called) sports cars are for geeks.
There is a reason race cars aren't FWD.

Get a real car.

12 grand?

Muscle car, my man. 12 grand will get you a sweet one. You won't have to do any work on it yourself. That is, of course, you want to whoop everyones ass racing it.

re prelude

I think that if you wanted to turbo charge a car you should be thinking different options. A drag t4 turbo kit for a 95-97 lude will be around 3,195.00 us before tax and shipping.. Alot of the kits that say they are bolt on and easy are not that easy and require custom piping.. Really expensive...
When I built my car, I was callin the wreckers everyday waiting for someone who blow the engine in accord.. After waiting two months I struck gold.. I paid $1000 canadian for a 96 accord.. Next you call collison places looking for a car thats been tail ended.. The engine I found was 96 acura integra gsr engine.. Bought that for $980 // Found my drag t4 turbo kit, dont remember the cost somthing around the price of the ludes.. With just engine and turbo she was boosting 287hp.. Anyways thats the road I took and its a little bit more hassle but way cheaper.. Oh and what ever you modify throw a bady seat in the back and a sticker "baby on board" you get out of way more tickets.. my .2cents

Hey gettinlarger, any suggestions? Like when you say muscle cars you mean like the old 69 comaros or something? I would get one but I am not into doing all that work.lol

If you can find one that has been taken care of,
I would suggest you look into a Honda Accord.

I had one, and it was a very nice car. And didn't
pay a lot for it..

Yeah brother. They're the best. Don't see too many around. But when you do, I dunno, makes me happy to see someone else who is into it. If you spend a nice sum of cash, you can find one that's been restored to no end, and won't need any work. "Hemmings Motor News" is a nice publication with classifieds from around the country.
