Honda 954RR looks like capable weapon.

Yeah the GSX-R 1000 is TIGHT!!!

But I actually feel I want to try a V-twin maybe a Suzuki TL1000R or a Honda RC51.

Are you guys on crack?

Do any of you watch world superbike racing?
Take any top five placings and you will see Ducati, Aprilia and usually suzuki or yamaha.

If you want a cheaper non-italian bike, go with the Suzuki Hayabusa 1300cc, they handle like a 750.

LOL! Have you ever ridden a bike? First of all the WSB bikes are $150k+, they're far far from stock. Secondly the Ducati is a 996, not a 900/916. Yamaha owned that class with their R7 until Haga got disqualified for testing positive for ephedrine. Fucking pathetic.

The Hayabusa handles like a piece of shit compared to the 750. You can't even compare them. The 1300 is huge.

Don't forget to mention Carl Fogarty was a WSB god. And the main reason for Ducati's past domination. Until last year when he retired.

Kind of like what happened when Mick Doohan retired from GP motorcycling. It was wide open for anyone, any factory team.

I've ridden some of the bikes mentioned here. I currently own a Honda Blackbird and if I was going to trade her in I would look at the Honda 954 or the Aprilia Mille or if the price is right the Mille R. I like the sound of Ducs and often you can find the right price (at least around here). However the maintence on the 996 motor is very crucial to long life. The recommended valve adjustment is 5-9K miles. These motor have no valve springs, just rocker arms to open/close the valves. So its more of a rocker adjustment than a spring adjustment. Most tune-ups in this nature at the dealership will cost you around $800. And in front/rear tire, oil change, and possible new brake pads and you have about $1400 a season in riding cost. Some of this stuff you can do at home but unless you are a Duc trained mechanic I wouldn't recommend touching that motor. BTW the ST4 has the same motor has the 996 and requires the same maintence. Strange considering its marketed as a sport touring motorcycle. Again don't take my word for this. You can ask the guys at the Duc dealer. Ask the service guys not the salesmen for this info. I'm sure they will tell you even higher and scarier ppriced info about this bike. As far for performance its more of a track bike. Very good on smooth twisty roads but not very good as far as day to day traveling.

I do about 10K a year on my bikes so comfort and reliabilty are issues with me. I like Honda because other than voltage regulators I've had any problems. Same with Kaws. I never owned a Suz or Yam. I have ridden many GSXR and GSXFs and found them very powerful. The GSXRs ofcourse have the most power and braking but the least in comfort. So was the R1 I used for a weekend. I have only test ridden a 929 but found it to be really comfty.

As far as twins I have only ridden a TLR and loved it. I would really consider buying this bike if I could afford a second bike to take the woman out on. Very good low speed pulling power. Its a twin so it builds all its power down low.

Not sure if my opinions helped but good luck on your purchase.

I keep hearing good things about the TL1000R I'm still not sure if V-twin is the way I want to go tho. I got a few months to make up my mind.
