I thought they went for deal...20K for genuine work from, quite possibly, the most powerful person in the history of all mankind.

I do not see why people view his works as being something to stay away from. Nelson Mandela is now singing songs urging the genocide of whites in South Africa and people love him to death.

If you look at his work, it is mediocre at best. It is exactly his place in world history that makes it collectable.

this was written in 1933 well before a single concentration camp existed.

To understand Hitler's reaction to the Jewish declaration of war, it is vital to understand the critical state of the German economy at the time. In 1933, the German economy was in a shambles. Some 3 million Germans were on public assistance with a total of 6 million unemployed. Hyper-inflation had destroyed the economic vitality of the German nation. Furthermore, the anti-German propaganda pouring out of the global press strengthened the resolve of Germany's enemies, especially the Poles and their hawkish military high command.

The Jewish leaders were not bluffing. The boycott was an act of war not solely in metaphor: it was a means, well crafted, to destroy Germany as a political, social and economic entity. The long term purpose of the Jewish boycott against Germany was to bankrupt her with respect to the reparation payments imposed on Germany after World War I and to keep Germany demilitarized and vulnerable.

According to The Daily Express of London of March 24, 1933, the Jews had already launched their boycott against Germany and her elected government. The headline read "Judea Declares War on Germany - Jews of All the World Unite - Boycott of German Goods - Mass Demonstrations." The article described a forthcoming "holy war" and went on to implore Jews everywhere to boycott German goods and engage in mass demonstrations against German economic interests. According to the Express:

The appearance of the Swastika as the symbol of the new Germany has revived the old war symbol of Judas to new life. Fourteen million Jews scattered over the entire world are tight to each other as if one man, in order to declare war against the German persecutors of their fellow believers.
The Jewish wholesaler will quit his house, the banker his stock exchange, the merchant his business, and the beggar his humble hut, in order to join the holy war against Hitler's people

The Red Cross Report is of value in that it first clarifies the legitimate circumstances under which Jews were detained in concentration camps, i.e. as enemy aliens. In describing the two categories. of civilian internees, the Report distinguishes the second type as "Civilians deported on administrative grounds (in German, "Schutzhäftlinge"), who were arrested for political or racial motives because their presence was considered a danger to the State or the occupation forces" (Vol. 111, p. 73). These persons, it continues, "were placed on the same footing as persons arrested or imprisoned under common law for security reasons." (P.74). The Report admits that the Germans were at first reluctant to permit supervision by the Red Cross of people detained on grounds relating to security, but by the latter part of 1942, the ICRC obtained important concessions from Germany. They were permitted to distribute food parcels to major concentration camps in Germany from August 1942, and "from February 1943 onwards this concession was extended to all other camps and prisons" (Vol. 111, p. 78).

The Red Cross Report, examined below, demonstrates conclusively that throughout the war the camps were well administered. The working inmates received a daily ration even throughout 1943 and 1944 of not less than 2,750 calories, which was more than double the average civilian ration in occupied Germany in the years after 1945.

A figure, consequently, of around 3 million Jews in German- occupied Europe is as accurate as the available emigration statistics will allow. Approximately the same number, however, can be deduced in another way if we examine statistics for the Jewish populations remaining in countries occupied by the Reich. More than half of those Jews who migrated to the Soviet Union after 1939 came from Poland. It is frequently claimed that the war with Poland added some 3 million Jews to the German sphere of influence and that almost the whole of this Polish Jewish population was "exterminated". This is a major factual error. The 1931 Jewish population census for Poland put the number of Jews at 2,732,600 (Reitlinger, Die Endlösung, p. 36). Reitlinger states that at least 1,170,000 of these were in the Russian zone occupied in the autumn of 1939, about a million of whom were evacuated to the Urals and south Siberia after the German invasion of June 1941 (ibid. p. 50).

im not attemptiong to justify anything. i wasnt there.

On the same note either should you. I can't count how many books I have read on the subject, nor how many veterans I have spoken with, let alone the pictures that are readily available. Ask a German how the holocaust is treated in their country today.

There are mass inconsistancies in recounts of 9/11 in the face of an amazing amount of evidence.

The point of his post is that there is no justifiable explanation for the exaggerated numbers to begin with. The number the Red Cross gives is a pretty big discrepancy from the number we've all heard in 9th grade history, Spielberg movies, etc.

Uhh its pretty obvious if you read my post the figures are from Red Cross reports and actual excerpts from Jewish newspapers written at the time.

No I dont remember where I got copies of the report. Ive seen multiple instances of the report..

so do i beleive them vs. someone on the internet who is citing a number known to be exxagerated? ya I do.

Do i think there is justification for murdering millions of people simply because they were jewish. Of course not..

problem is.. I just dont beleive millions of jews were murdered. Im not a Nazi.. I abhor socialism. Im not even German.. just someone who doesnt beleive figures twisted by people with a political and social agenda.

I'd say the fact that the World Almanac lists an increase of nearly 600,000 in the Jewish population in Europe between 1941 and 1948 suggests a fairly large exaggeration by any standards. Not to mention the Red Cross reports during and after the war, as Milo touched on in his post.


Oh, and lol at those numbers being "revised" in 1949 to reflect the figures given by the American Jewish Committee. Perhaps that one almost got away from them.

Have they always been allowed full access to every country, prison camp, unamended internment lists, etc. from the start of every war to the present? I mean who wouldn't allow the RED CROSS to complete access for everything they do?
