Hit Shortfall

Does anyone else suffer this?

My K-Power is, currently, 39 points but, when I hit, I'm actually only hitting for 35. It seems that there's a shortfall of 4 points. I note that this is, roughly, 10% of the 39. Is this known about or what?

Obviously, I'm up for Green testing but that isn't the intent of this post.

I'm getting short-shifted on receipts too.

I've recently been hit four times and my Hits went up by 355. The total Power of the hitters was 376. An error in the bank's favour of 21 points.

I checked the Karma store and there have been no major transactions to account for the missing points.

What is going on here????

That's huge and not what you'd have been expecting.

Maybe this is one of the problems to solve to win the iPod. Maybe there are gremlins about.

I found a post of his that I really approved of and he still only received 36 of my 40.

I note that he's non-Plat.

??? Are Plat hits being penalized ???

And right after:

Karmic Power: 41
Karma Hits: 55639

Now, I may have only taken 5 college-level calculus courses in my life so far, but it seems to me that I am indeed hitting you with 46 points, which would be 11 short. And you and I both are plat.

My sample data is very small so this is likely to be nonsense.

From my observations, I think the K formula for Plats which determines your Power is
Posts / 500
Months +1 for each anniversary
Hits / 2000

eg for Ohashi:
Posts = 8256 / 500 = 16
Months = 24 + 2 = 26
Hits = 30872 / 2000 = 15
Total 57

For me:
2763 / 500 = 5
Months = 9
Hits = 55977 / 2000 = 27
Total 41

I need to account for a drop of 4 on mine and 11 on Ohashi's

I'm wondering whether someone has made a typo on copying the formula and the post-count is being divided by 1500 rather than 500. I'm assuming that it gets rounded down after the division.

That would take 4 points from my hit and 11 from his
Post-counts:
Ohashi: 8256 / 1500 = 5 - a drop of 11 from 16
Mine: 2763 / 1500 = 1 - a drop of 4 from 5

This would mean that post-count is being undervalued for Plats' hits. This calculation also works with another Plat hit I received yesterday.

WTF before i hit you your K was 55977 , and i hit for 175 after i hit you your K went to 56141

thats only 164 so yea i you were fucked out of 11 k points , george wtf is goin on this is some shady shit taxin k hits now , i dont think so :rolleyes:
It also breaks my previous theory since that would have you losing 12 points.

It's very close, though. I'm sure I'm on the right track with post-count but just don't have the right number at 1500.

VAT on K hits...

Scandalous

Karmagate level to say the least

Taxing something with no real value, like karma, makes no sense at all.

Only 236 of my 252 point hits are making it through.
The 1500 divisor on your post-count would account for a 16-point loss at 7 rather than 23 with a 500 divisor.

I think it's just a typo in the code for Plat hits. They'll fix it when they get a round tuit.

The second-order Taylor series expansion George uses to calculate karma has always gotten cut off after four terms. Now that karma hits are in excess of seven digits, the variance is becoming noticable and taking on integer-valued multiples.

I think he's using Fast Fourier Transforms from a 64-entry cosine table.

Either way, he needs faster computational software to keep up. Or he could just buy some engineers. That'd probably be a helluva lot cheaper and require much less maintenance than pesky computer software, just as long as he remembers to feed 'em every couple days. Otherwise they get really annoying and whiney.

when I read this thread http://elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=424630&page=2&pp=20

I immediately thought of a fourier cosine series to represent the karma hits.

thats crazy
