HIIT- how much, how often?

Currently I am in the bulking phase of my training and expect to be so until early spring/late winter. However I am thinking about using HIIT to help minimize fat accumulation over the period. I'm not really looking to get cut, but should that "happen" I certainly wouldn't mind! So the question is, how much (distance or time) should I use and how ofter (like once a week?) should I perform these workouts. Just for fun I did a little baby workout today, all this was was 40 sec light jogging/40 sec full sprint/etc until I did 5 total sprints.
 
When I did HIIT -- I did it 4x a week... I was trying to lose fat quick though... I'd have 2 session at one pace, and then I would bump it up the next 2 seesion in that week... so... it would look like this.

Week 1 -- Mon 4 min (30 sec sprint, 30 sec jog) Tues 4 min, Thurs 5 min, Fri 5 min

Week 2 -- Mon 6 min, Tues 6 min, Thurs 7, Fri 7... etc...

Until I got up to about 15 minutes or so... and then I just basically stuck at that for about 4 more weeks...

It really worked good.
