High reverse t3 anybody hear, know?

hi,

I have problem, struggeling with weight gain 8 lb in 2 months, im on Synthroid 200mcg and my blood test are weird. TSH, free T3 low, reverse t3 so high, what it could be, i have no energy, so tired. Doctor put me on birth control to regulate my cycle. going to see endo in few weeks, but looking explanation or if someone has similar problem.


TSH 0.006 normal 0.450-4.500
T4 free 2.2 normal 0.82 - 1.77
T3 free 2.5 norma 2.0 - 4.4
Reverse T3 51.9 norma 13.5 - 34.2

check out stop the thyroid madness all that together with the dot com at the end. I have hypo and was started on synthroid and it was awful. If you google reverse t3 issues you'll get lots of answers too.

You need to come off the t4 and clear your receptors or something to that effect.

I take T3 only daily and I'm doing really well on it.

I'm not a big fan of synthroid.

What ryansmom said....if your rt3 is really high an endo that subscribes to the theory that high rt3 is abnormal WI generally perceive straight cytomel at a dose that's stepped up. But be warned that this is a controversial topic and blood test and it may go dismissed entirely...if you feel like crap pursue it with a different dr.

Oh... I take a dessicated product and prefer it to straight anything though a time released compounded product was good as well but very expensive
