High Pulls - who does them?

vin01

New member
I want to add high pulls to my routine, which already includes cleans and power shrugs.

From anybody with experience, since I have never done a high pull before..

What weight to you typically start with?

if you had to give a percentage of a clean or upright row, how much %?

Thanks

Well, if you've never done them, start where you need to start. The biggest mistake I see with these, is that people do them too slow ....they need to be explosive and snappy.

Really, they have nothing to do with upright rows. You should do them as you clean. Ideally, a good goal should be to handle 50lbs more than you clean at the very least. This varies of course depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the lifter, but I think anybody regardless of strengths/weaknesses should be using a minimum of 50lbs more than they can clean.
