I have been doing deadlifts for a long time and my deadlift is currently at 405. I turn 17 in a month so this is good for my age. My question is regarding rep ranges for the deadlift. my maxout is at 405 but i cant do 2 reps until i drop the pounds to below 325. In fact, in order to do an 8 rep set of deadlift i might have to be working with around 250 pounds. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, having a rep weight that is WAY lower than the maxout weight. As a result of this i never do more than 3 reps on deadlift. I was also wondering what is the best number of reps on deadlift for increased... back size? or strength?
