Hi all newbie here

JohnTom

New member
Hey all,

My name is John, I just started working out. I go 3 days a week and stay 2-3 hours. I am from Eastern, Ky. I am 25 yrs. old. I have a rebuilded right shoulder. I been doing a lot pushups, situps to work my shoulders and tummy. Any novice lifting routines would be great! My legs are pretty much steel beams already from playing football in high school? Any one got any tips on turning a round tummy into a 6 pack? I been drinking alot of protien shakes and eatting alot of meat. Anyone else got any other ideas? Anyone else from Eastern, Ky on here?

Thanks,
John

Originally from Pike County, but I live about 30 miles from Georgetown, Williamstown if you know that area, work in G-town. Damned if I was going to do coal mines.

Do the 3x5, read the stickies like both suggested. Lots of good guys here and they know what they are doing.

TRUST NOONE. They lie to keep you fat and week so that they will by default be better without working half as hard.

Funny that you would say that because Hazard has what they call the black gold festival and they had the whole dukes of hazard bunch show and boy did Daisy look good in those shorts.

i saw tom wopat singing at a county fair a few years back, man has he fallen so far... from shooting out moving car tires with his bow and arrow, leaning out the side window of the General

Whew just got back lifting. Nice little workout at for 3 hours time. I done situps, deadlifts, treadmill, curls, and worked on triceps and biceps.

Interesting....effective? probably not.

Squat, Deadlift, bench/row...repeat....situps are decent, for your arms I'd recommend pullups/chinups.

Like I said I am new. And yes I have questions and do listen. So f.uck off

1. Your weak. I am not.
2. You did a shit workout that will do close to nothing for you.
3. You are a tool

Read the stickys and do the Rippetoe 3x5. Then in 18 months come see us again and you can thank me personally w/ a blow job or something else fun. I was post #2 and told you all you needed to know...then you go do situps, deadlifts, treadmill, curls, and worked on triceps and biceps.... in time you will understand what a tool you are... but there is hope in the stickys.

You have to understand why he seems like an ass. We told you what to do, and then you go off and do your routine without listening to the best advice you'll get when it comes to lifting.

This forum gets these questions more then the Amazon gets rain. Majority of the time they leave and never come back because they don't want to listen because someone didn't say "Take this pill and do whatever, and you are in good shape." It seems people don't want to hear they have to put in actual work for a year before they get a great amount of results.

Start eating more, eat a lot. Eat every 2-3 hours and about 6-8 times a day. Sleep at least 7-8 hours. Dedicate yourself, this is your 2nd job, you may only have to do it for a total of 5-6 hours a week, but it'll be harder to do this job because no one but you gives a shit about your performance. Don't except compliments, because after awhile people notice you are doing good, and people hate that. You may get congratulations about it once in awhile, but other males will hate the fact you are getting stronger. Unless they lift themselves, they'll be more pissy with you.

You have a path to choose from, right here and right now. You can be that guy that is benching 250+ for reps in a year or two, DLing 400 or so and probably Oly Squating 300+. Or, you can be that guy that listens to the people at GNC about getting ripped by not drinking water with sodium in it.

You want help, stop your routine NOW! You know how to DL, I'm assuming you can squat, and NO QUARTER SQUATS! Parallel or Olympic, either/or but nothing else.
