HGH Dosing?

I am interested in taking HGH for health reasons and shed a little fat. I am NOT looking to take it for size. So having said that, how many IU's/day would suffice. After reading around it seems the general consensus is taking 2iu's/ day. Would that be split by taking 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, or simply take 2iu's at once in the morning.

I take HGH as part of my HRT program. I give it a lot of credit for the great gains in overall health I've made in the last year.

It works very well in conjunction with testosterone. I believe it acclerates and intensifies aas.

HGH alone will not give you muscle popping gains. It seems to effect the entire body, making you larger and heavier.

My dosage is low as in a true HRT program. I take 1.25 iu eod. IMO ... 2 iu M-Fr with Sat and Sun off is the max. This drug has side effects that can really intensify. The toughest is the dam hand numbness at night.

If taking 2 iu ed, I would space the shots out:
-Normal body release of HGH - 4th hour of sleep
- Shot #1, 8 hours after
- Shot #2, 8 hours after #1

how old are you?

Im 33 yrs. old. I want to take it just to lose some body fat and for over all health & preventive care. That's why Im seeking a minimum affective dosage. So EOD would suffice or was thinking 1-2 iu/day M-F with Sat & Sun off.

Any body else who has actual experience with this?

I am taking 3 iu on a 5/2 schedule. Fat loss and better overall health is also my objective. Many people prefer eod, but then you might want to up your dose to 3-4iu so your weeky total of gh is the same as if you were using ed. For doses greater than 4 iu splitting the dose would be good. For smaller doses I do not think it necessary.

So your taking 3iu at once? When in the am or pm? Thanks

I take it as soon as I get up in the am. From what I have read and discussed with other folks on HGH, they usually don't split doese until 4iu. Then they do 2iu in the am and 2 iu pwo. On non wo days usually second dose 4hrs before bedtime. IMO more than 4iu per day is for serious body builders. I am 58 so I take it for anti-aging and health reasons. I work out, but I don't want to get bigger at this age, just stronger and more stamina.

Do you have any reference articles talking about dosing. I want to take 2iu's/day and everyone on these forums suggest splitting 1iu am / 1iu pm. But it certainly would be more convienant to take it all at once.l

Mickeyblues,

IMO, I think some of the doses being thrown around may be a little high. If you're not looking to use the HGH to build muscle, but rather as a preventive anti-aging tool, I think 1 IU/day would be adequate.

However, you don't have to take anybody's word for it. Rather, get bloodwork done, and note your IGF-1 level. Then do what you think is a proper dose for several months, and get bloodwork done again. If you're using it for anti-aging, then you want to be on the high side of the IGF-1 range for a man in his early 30's. By looking at your bloodwork, then you can adjust your dose up or down accordingly.

Not only does 2-4 IU's/day sound high, but even with generic HGH at $2-4/IU, you're talking a significant investment. You may be able to achieve your goals with a smaller $$$ layout while concurrently avoiding some of the sides that some will experience when they go over 2 IU/day.

Good luck.

You could be right. I don't know. I just dropped back to 2iu due to sore wrist.

Recommended dosaging usually follows a body weight scale (also according to prescribing information on the insert)

Body Weight / 2.204622 = Body Weight in Kg

Body Weight kg x .018 = Minumin dosage

Body Weight kg x .0375 = Max dosage

Start just slightly up from min and reduce by 1/2 IU if sensitive to medication.

Let's try this at my 215:
97.5 kg

1.8 (iu ?)min

3.7 (iu ?)max

Strong for my tastes, but the reduction sounds reasonable.

Is this daily?

No time off at all?

Age factor?

Lion,

You are correct with your calculations. I read in another post that you use Saizen. If you look at the insert that comes with the medication the is a formula for dosing that is similar to this one presented. The only difference is that in their calculations for dosing is done with the results ending up in mg strength instead of IU's. By doing the one provided it will automatically doing the conversion to IU's for you. The dosage you are currently using may be fine for you as your body responds to it. If you started at the recommended dosage you may have had to reduce to the sensitivity that your body has. Also I know that you do a great job at monitoring your blood levels from previous postings so if you are maintaining that optimal level you are definately on the right track.
