The newer ones have convenience features, like the built in A/C, running water tanks, lots of electrical hookups. You can make your own, the plans are on the internet for purchase, but hubby and I don't have the space or time to do the job.
The only really bad part about camping is going to piddle in the middle of the night ... especially when it's raining, that's a drag. Otherwise, camping is the most relaxing vacation, you can watch the critters, sit around the fire, look at the stars ...
