Felt like a light tap with a pipe. About a 1/2 hour later the clavicle started to ache. Surprising how little it hurt on impact. I saw the flash of the gun, I felt the impact, I took cover behind a brick doorway, but it took a couple of minutes until I saw the blood. Until the blood, I wasn't sure I was even hit - it was a mild mind fuck.
Witnesses to this day carry one about how stoic and calm I was - but when your not sure WTF happened it's easy to stay calm. Still have mad street cred at the bar, which is helpfull to a bouncer.
Once I saw the gunman fleeing instead of trying again to enter the bar, I walked to the bartender and asked him to call 911. He asked why? So I lifted my hand to show the blood squirting out, and everyone (but me) freaked - kind of comical now - lol.
