I hate to admit it, but this post is spot on. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. You learn to talk and listen without really paying attention. And it's not that you don't care or want to listen with both ears, it's just a man's way of dealing with the same boring (to us anyway) shit day after day. With my ex it wasn't Oprah, it was stuff about the farm. But it's always something in a marriage.

My advice is to suck it up and let her talk. You have to if you want to keep her happy and content.
