Hey Asphalt Assasins Can Arai Helmets Be Repaired?

Man, I had a crappy weekend I went to a parking lot with a bunch of dudes doing slow stunts and my daughter was there with a few of her friends. Anyway, after doing some slow stuff I decide to split(not near as fun as high speed freeway wheelies to me) anyway my daughter asked if she could ride home with me and being a nice dad I said ok but you have to wear my helmet.

Face forward to the nextday. Well after taking a 3 hour nap after church on sunday I decide I want to go pop some freeway wheelies. Put on my helmet and when I lift my shield have of it comes off. I look at the helmet and the side cover that is painted like the rest of the helmet is off leaving all the shield raising mechanism exposed. Can you replace that piece or am I screwed. I mean that was a $550 helmet that I would hate to spend the money to replace but dang it felt good and worked great. What a crappy weekend.

Yes, you can replace that piece. That piece has to come off to change the sheild anyway.

Find Arai's website and if you can't find the pieces on there, find a customer service number and call them up. They'll help you. Shouldn't cost you more than a few dollars to get a new piece.

Naw, I could take the shield off with out taking that piece off. I mean I think that piece was glued on.

Should be replacable. No way would Arai let a $500+ helmet go into the shitter because of a 20 cent plastic piece.

Hell, even a $100 helmet has replacement parts out there. Call Arai.

I have a suomy helmet and have already replaced that peice ..it is not glued on...Hence you can change the sheilds on them...you need be able to snap them out...on my helmet is had a release button with a special key thing to open it...but im think shoei and arai just pop in....but if yours is broken you can just order that peice...
