I'm a personal trainer and am kicking around a business idea and I'd like to get an opinion from others. Without revealing too much, I'd like to know what you would be willing to pay for a verified, qualified new client lead? I'll create a poll and I would sincerely appreciate you taking a second and answering it.

Thanks,

I'm not a PT but I am a small business owner. If I WAS a PT I think I would pay more than your highest poll amount for a lead that panned out.

Meaning a client lead that was guaranteed to buy a package? I'd pay a small fee for that, but if they weren't already sold then forget it.

I would definitely pay a measly $25 bucks for a qualified lead. After all, it is 1/2 of what I just paid to fill my car up with gas. Trainers needs to think of the $25 as a marketing cost, and think of the lifetime value of the prospect. Just one of those leads could end up making your $20,000 over the next 3 years. Not a bad return!

I would go about paying $25 for maybe up to a couple of thousand dollars to determine my conversion rate. It is important to know well these so-called leads convert to sales. Once you have a conversion rate you can determine if you want to open up the flood gates. If you spend $25 to make $100 (value per visitor), I would beg to get as many leads as possible.

Moral of the story.... know your advertising metrics!

I would not pay for a "qualified lead" but if the referral became a client I may grant a referral much greater than your poll numbers. To me, a qualified lead is someone who checks out my website, but that doesn't mean he/she is going to pay me to provide personal training.
