I'm 16 years old, just turned 16 actually. I'm 5'8" and weigh 155 lbs and sometimes 160 lbs.

I've been working out for 1 1/2 years, and use creatine powder, l-glutamin powder, and protein whey powder.

I don't cycle, but I will soon when I learn how to do it.

I bench 205 lbs, and sometimes get to 210 lbs. I leg press 520 lbs, and squat about 360 lbs.

I'm not ripped and strong, but I hope to change that with help from people on this board.

Anyways, here's some current pics of me at the moment from my webcam.

Give me your input:

Great start

You got a great frame to start with, I'd lean up a bit cardio/lipokinetix. Then lift for the next few years and learn your body before considering aas.

Ok you replied to my pic so I'll reply to yours. I think you are definately thicker than I am, but thats because you have way higher body fat. To truly compare, you'd have to cut. I'm 6 feet, 170/175 right now. Plus I've never done creatine but plan to this upcoming fall.

I dunno if you mean cycle creatine and glutamine and protein, or cycle AAS. If you mean cycle creatine try cycles of 6-8 weeks spaced out at least 8 weeks apart. Always take protein and glutamine, or at least take glutamine.

But on another note, I'm glad there are more 16 year olds coming on this board. Most the people my age at school are uneducated in this field and either skinnyfat (skinny but with no muscle so it makes them look fatter) or just fat. We are a minority of the age group with the dedication to looking good and feeling good (after we leave the gym, not during lol) through bodybuilding

looks pretty good you have a few more years of adding more muscle naturally before considering a cycle....up the protein for 2 grams for every lb of bodyweight!! RADAR

Looking really good, bro. I'd say don't even think about steroids for a few years... lift smart, eat right, and you'll grow. Make sure to drink lots of water if you go way high on protein like RADAR suggested. What's your diet like now?

Stay as lean as you can while you grow, but don't get too obsessed with getting cut just yet. Time for that once you get some more size on ya.

I eat as much as I can basically. I eat no deep fried foods, no junk food, no fat. I eat only healthy.

LeanTeen, yeah we're the same age different body structure. Butt hats good to know that there are others my age too. We can help eachother out :)

Thanks for everyone's input!

I'll start to use 2 scoops of protein a day now I guess.

Sweet:mix: Seriously though I do think we can help eachother out. BTW What brand of protein do you use? It might be a better question to someone my age, I'm almost 17 (oct. 2nd) as it is. Look forward to hearing from you again.

diet ideas for gains

Truthugs -- I was gonna send this in an email but I thought I'd put it up here so other folks can chime in if they want. Eating is the hardest part of the game ... here's a few ideas you may want to think about. Try for 5-6 "meals" a day. Most people can maintain their weight with about 15 times their bodyweight, in calories. To gain, try adding 500 calories to that number. (160 times 15, plus 500 would be about 3000 cals a day for you at 160 pounds) Again, to gain, try for about equal calories from protein, fat, carbs ... so 1000 cals a day from each source. protein has 4 cals per gram, so do carbs, so thats 250 g of protein, 250 g of carbs, and 110 g a day of fat. (fat has 9 cals per gram)

Protein should come from lean meat, fish, and protein powders, mostly whey protein. Fat should be mostly clean fat high in omega-3 and -6 EFAs -- flax oil and olive oil, for example. Carbs should be complex carbs, low in sugars.

I think it's great to have guys like you and Lean Teen on here, learning how to play the game right. Wish I'd been where you are at your age.

Hope this helps.. email me if this was unclear or you have questions. So you know where I'm coming from (I'm a new guy here, too) I'm 5'10, about 198, about 7-8% BF. I competed in March at under 5% and weighed in at 172.

body fat percentage

Hey, Thug -- can someone at your gym do a bf% measurement for ya? It's hard to do on yourself. I work as a trainer at my place and I do it all the time -- there's usually no charge. My eye says you're somewhere in the 10-12% range.

No he is higher than 10-12 %. No flame but "it is true" Lean teen has a much better build IMO. But you have a good start for 16. Again not a flame just MO.

I dunno how much I can help, me being a vegetarian and all...I drink 3 whey shakes with milk a day (designer strawberry:D ) I eat about 40 or 50 grams of soy protein. My protein ends up being about equal to my bodyweight so usually about 170 grams. Stay away from carbs and stay away from anything thats "fat free", that just means less fat=more sugar. Fat is not always a bad thing, think about invensting in some flaxseed oil, worked wonders for me and its really healthy for you..

Try and return that hydroxycut, it has the meanest sides of all the eca's from what I've heard and its really a rip off. Do cardio 30 minutes a day between 3 and 5 days a week.

All this and you should be riiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppped in no time!

Good luck its hard to stick to, I know.

Ok, I'm going to return my Hydroxycut today hopefully.

Whats this flaxseed oil cost? And how do I use it? Just pop a pill every day?

NONONONONO I do not choke down that nasty soy powder!!! I eat food for soy protein, I eat that kind of like "fake-meat" so I can get different kinds of protein. Stuff like veggie burgers and veggie dogs and veggie turkey, etc. I also eat a little soy-nut butter, tastes exactly like peanut better and has more protein. I take 3 whey shakes a day, I can't progress much with only one source of protein.

P.S. Soy is not only for the ladies, what gave you that idea?

P.P.S. I also end up getting casetein (sp) from milk products.

You can get flaxseed pills but I wouldn't reccomend it, not effective, nor cost-effective. You'd have to take about 15 pills to equal a tablespoon of the liquid. You can get the actual oil in a bottle, I get a months supply for 5 or 10 bucks. You take a tablespoon's worth of flax and either choke it down or just mix it in a protein shake.

OK that is better but......

Soy protein is still for the ladys. Check it out. But I uderstand since you are a vegetarian.

Everything Sinagua has listed here is right on the money-I wish i had access to all this info when i was your age..when i first started, bodybuilding was taboo, protein was discusting tasting chalky powder that wouldn't blend with anything..... follow these guidelines and watch the gains keep comming.....
