Agree. Any truly FAST car should have a roof.

C&D agrees with you. The factory had no loaners available and they had to borrow that one from a private owner.

I just dont like porsche's. The really high perf ones (exluding the boxtster) are all twitchy as hell. I've driven 3 and my experience was the same as the reviewers I've read, which is....if you're a really skilled driver you can drive them to the hairy edge, if not you'll end up in the muddy ditch. I know a lot of people think this behavior is part of porche's cachet value, but I think its an achille's heel.

this is true - but I thought the first generation vipers looked better as convertibles...

I dunno, I kinda like the Cobra Daytona Coupe vibe of the Viper coupe.

I admit that the oversteer thing is part of the Porsche's allure, to conquer it before it conquers you.

I share your love for Ferraris, but I think I'd feel too self conscious driving one on a regular basis, it's just so showy and ostentatious. A Porsche would blend in better.

vipers/vettes are a dime a dozen these days...seems like that new bentley is all over the place as well... same as the m3...million of those as well...

its always the old guys who drive the ferrari's to the gym ..... never a good lookin young stud..

thats cool...

vettes are awsome...sux they are so common in LA/phx and ppl dont think as highly as they should a vette...

have u seen the new zo6? damn...thing will do 0-60 in first gear still !

my biggest bitch about the newer vettes(ill never own one but) is the run flat tires, why? they kill prefromance somewhat and run flats are good for what 50 miles after the flat?

they are loud too.... rather have high prefromance tires (yes i know run flats are still ZR or YR rated, ) but gimmie reg preformance tires!

My beef with Porsche oversteer is that you can not feel it coming, at least I cant. One second you feel like the car is on a rail, then BANG the rear is stepping out quick! The only other car I've ever personally driven with comparable perf is the Corvette. I feel SO much more confident driving that thing to the limit of its roadholding....you can always feel it approaching its limit. And when I have overcooked it, I've just lifted and the rear pops right back into line.

I know a lot of people agree with you about Ferraris. They would never drive one without they perceive them to be so outrageously egomanical cars.
