Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

So I have used nair several time now no problems. Just used it and I am getting a bit of a rash mostly on my quads it is not real bad but I don't want it to get worse. Any suggestions????

Did you leave it on too long?

Put some cortisone cream on it (you can find a mild cortisone cream at the drugstore)... I think the drugstores here only sell 0.5% - 1.0% cortisone creams, but that should help a bit.

Daisy_Girl - that benadryl cream is awesome...I don't think they sell it here in Canada, though. My family got some when they were in the States a while back though and it works really well for bug bites, etc. lol.

If your skin is becoming irritated, and you have not had problems using that product before, it is a good sign that the Nair is reacting with another product. Possibly left over soap, or lotion? I wouldn't add anything to the mix right now... It would probably be a good idea to run some warm water into the tub and let the "steam" open up the pores on your legs. Then rinse your legs off with luke warm water. If the rash is still there in a couple hours, then you may want to put some benadryl or whatever on it...

Good Luck! :)

Funny you say that - I was going to say I wasn't sure if they had it in Canada, but then I was thinking it was another one of those "do they have saran wrap in America" kind of questions .... hahahaha

Cortisone is a good idea though. :)

depends on the nature of the rash.

i doubt that the nair has reacted with another product on the surface of the skin...that stuff is quite nasty all on its own...its not like youre going to get anything much nastier as a product of any reaction on the surface of the skin. besides, how much crap is on the surface of your skin anyway?

chances are that the rash has developed because something was different about your skin surface, conducive to the rash, something that would expose more tender tissue ie your pores/hair follicles being exposed because of temperature/recent exfoliation/recent waxing or shaving/recent nair use (which will thin the skin)...or you could have just left it on too long.

chances are, teh rash youre seeing is some sort of dermatitis along the lines of a mild chemical burn - and what you need to do is avoid drying it out any more than it has already (dont use soap. use soapless cleansers that wont dry out skin) then moisturise using some sort of emollient cream (something really neutral...some moisturisers are a bit irritant in themselves, so if vitamin E or sorbolene makes you itch or makes it worse, go to a pharmacy and get some of the stuff they sell old people) and DONT use a corticosteroid cream as has been advised, since that will retard healing in the area.

i strongly doubt that its an allergic or inflamed sort of injury, hence no need for either the corticosteroid cream or the benadryl cream

the last, and most important thing for you to do is to do more pullups. 5 is just embarrassing ;)

Cortisone shouldn't have an effect on your muscle. I think you're referring to cortisol.

works the same way --

It reduces inflamation by killing tissue in the inflamed area. the otc topical stuff isnt real potent, but still theres some systemic absorption.

Krishna - you see my response on the HGH question btw? it's good stuff for what you're looking to do.

I was checking it out this morning in the shower it is not that bad a few bumps still but nothing majour. I took the benadryl last night too. I think that helped.

as if you worry about topical corticosteroids and muscle loss...LOL!!!

muscle wasting etc is at high doses for a long time. if you squirted the tube into your mouth, then sure, but on your skin? and a few smears of it? LOLOLOLOL

this rates a 0.00000000000000001 on the care factor scale

remember too that she's ultralean right now - more systemic absorption. and she doesnt weigh much. If I felt the effects after 2 days at 200 lbs (strenght wise during workouts) a lighter leaner depleated already catabolic girlie should be cautious about using it. :heks:

And I said its not a huge deal, but just something to take into consideration. ::sticks tongue out with fingers in ears::

Good .... this is the last thing you need to be worried about at this point! :)
