Help with Explorer 6.0.......

Ok, for any website that I go to and have to type a user name or password into....... IE 6.0 as soon as I start to type gives me a drop down menu with what I typed previously. To clarify..when I got Elite mail and start to type in "Thefantom1" as soon as I type the "T" a pull down menu shows up with "thefantom1" in it and all I then have to do is click that. I want to disable this feature..... for security reasons... How do I do this?? Thanks

Ok,

This may work....

Go to your top task bar in IE6 ( you know, File, Edit, View, etc) and select the Tools menu and go to "Internet Options."

Click on the content tab on the little hing that comes up, and half way down this page you'll see "auto complete". Click the button !!!

On the new little box you get, uncheck autocomplete for the Web addresses, Form, user names and passwords, and click on the 'clear passwords' and 'clear forms' buttons. OK all this and you should be fine.

Also clear you temp internet files and history. This can be done by right clicking on the IE icon, and going to porperties. On the first tab click on the 'Delete Files' and 'Clear History' buttons. Set days to keep history to zero, and click on the 'settings' button for temp files and set amount of disk space to use to 0.

This will make you very secure. (you may also want to get rid of cookies, which you'll find in a file named cookies. Turning off accepting cookies is also found under the properties tab. Doing this will mean you'll have to log on everytime you come to Elite tho).

It may cause some probs after prolonged browsing (I'm talking hours), if so just disconnect and then connect again.
