help w/ Estradiol elevation

i am a 31 yr old that has struggled w/ aromatization for a long time. i am not overweight, follow great dieatary habits, and am physically fit. blood work is terrific. no anemia, gi issues, or thyroid problems. i have never done any anabolics but have low libido, and now slight depression for years. my testosterone varies from low to normal but i always have high levels of estradiol. the higher the t the higher the estradiol, which makes sense. my lh and fsh fluctuate (sometime normal, sometimes outside the ranges for hypogonadism). i have done about every natural approach i can find. not much change. does anyone have a conservative approach they can reccomend? i know ai can decrease libido even more so i want to be careul. also, once the estrogen receptors are down regulated...will that continue or is that something that will sustain. currrently taking a nitric oxide supplement, resveratrol, and super miraforte w/ no real changes. anyways i sincerely appreciate the help

When you say elevated E, exactly what do the labs say? Another problem could be low magnesium and zinc. For natural E control try DIM(diindolylmethane) at about 600mg/day and and Calcium D-Glucarate at 1200mg/day for about 8 weeks and get blood tested again and see what it does to your E.

thanks for the reply. zinc and mg already accounted for. i am anally retentive, in a good way, about natural products, but was not familiar w/ those links. estradiol runs at 12 on most recent labs, normal for my age is 1-3 pg/ml. these are salivary tests for free fraction hormones. i will look into the DIM and i have done the calcium d glucarate w/ no response. in your experience, when these receptors are down regulated is the problem corrected? any knowledge on the phytoserm 347 and its effectiveness? thanks again

I know some big name coaches recommend a daily intake of 2000mg magnesium for athletes, are you getting that much or have you had RBC magnesium checked? (serum magnesium is a poor indicator of actual magnesium levels).

Also for the DIM and d glucarate, the doses I stated above are actually about 4-6 times whats recommended on the bottle so if you didnt get a response in the past, where you taking enough?

As for receptor down regulation, I dont think thats going to occur systemically and even if it did I dont think you would want it to. While high levels of E are not good, neither are low levels.

Sorry, no rel experience with phytoserm 347.

rbc mg was perfect when checked in january. calcium dose before was 1000mg, may not have been enough. ordered the dim and will give it a go. thanks for the help

Whats your definition of perfect? Reference range is 4.0-6.4 mg/dL with many respected coaches looking to have athletes at 6.4 to 6.8 mg/dL. So even if your in range the low end is not ideal for athletes.

6.2
range w/ labcorp is 4.2 to 6.8. its at the high end of normal but beneath your 6.4-6.8 range. so do u suggest increasing dosage of mg, maybe 2000mg / day like previously stated for a few months?

6.2 is pretty good but you probably still have a little room to improve.

I guess the first thing I would want to consider is how long have you been at your current dose or mag and do you have a history of labs?

The reason I ask is that if you just started your current mag dose within say the last 6 months, your RBC values may still be in the rise. If you have been at your current mag dose for longer than that and have multiple labs showing RBC values are holding constant then you have a baseline to work with.

How much mag are you on now?

didnt start dosing until after the lab test. am doing about 400-500mg per day (supplement wise since january). i dont have any prior rbc mg labs to work w/.

If that lab result was before adding additional supp mg to diet then you may be good. I guess id check it again in a few months and see.
