I've learned a lot about fitness within the passed year or two to the point where I can explain almost anything regarding muscles or nutrition. I've put some co-workers of mines on weight loss, bulking and cutting regimans and they've all done well with it. I can't afford the $600 to get certified right now but I'm seriously considering finding some clients in my neighborhood and being there personal trainer.
I have a full time job and I work out at home and I'd love to do this on the side as I really do have a passion for health and fitness. I have some ideas but I was wondering if any of you personal trainers have any good tips on working privately with a client. For example:
-How often should I meet with them a week?
-If they want to work out at a gym and I'm not a member how would I be able to show them what exercises to do and how do to them?
-Should I allow them to work out at my house with my weights if they can't get their own?
-If they don't have the money to get the necessary equipment/food how would I handle that?
-Do clients ever learn a lot of info from you then decide they don't need a trainer? Is there anyway to prevent that?
I was thinking to put up some flyers in my area and spread the word to find clients. From there I would do a consultation to see if my schedule and there schedule would allow us to work together and see if they want to take me on as their trainer and if I would be able to take them on as my client. I know I obviously can't charge too much considering that I'm not yet certified.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
