My GYM buddy has type 1 diabetes, shots every day. He has delt w/ it from 2yrs old . He is in great shap 5' 8 229lbs
32 in. waist so he's not fat. Like me he has been hitting the wieghts for about 13 yrs w/ sould numbers.
bench 405x5
dead lifts around 485 x 5
sqt 520 x 5

He would like to use gear but is unsure if he can? What ever help he can get on this subject would be great!!

Thanks man , i told him the same thing. His ass just wants to be huge! Like alot of us he busts his ass and at best gets about 15 lbs of good growth a year. At least over the last 3 years Ive worked out w/ him.

I have a friend who competes in powerlifting and strongman who is type-1 and has used juice for 10 years. I've asked him about it before. He said there is no issue really. If he is diabetic hes prbably checking his blood sugar 10 times a day. Which would alert him if he was in any danger.

I can't see why this would be an issue. As long as he keeps a close eye on it and watches his diet(which I would suspect he is doing anyway) he will be fine.

bro, i dont mean to sound like a dick, but your buddy is 5-8. at 230 i think he'll get wider than he is tall. also gear and diabetes doesnt sound like a winning combination.

real bad idea, it runs in my family with luck i have thus far escaped it,,, but it can be and really is life and limb threatning not to mention eye sight.......
with the big D your diet has to be spot on and either pills or injections of ins. as well just tell him for his sake bad idea and to read up on it..

Again thanks..... I have told him any bigger his ass wo'nt be able to move!! I told him to just cut it up and be happy he can carry 230lbs allnat!!

I've actually met people who are type 2, and were put on HRT to help out with their diabetes, but only for type 2. I don't know if that info. will help out you buddy, but that's what I know. If he does go see a Doc. I would recommend it be a HRT Doc., because they have patients that are there just for their diabetes. Even one of the trainers @ my gym who is on HRT for his diabetes is always trying to recruit people into HRT. If someone is a lil older, or has type 2 diabetes you can bet he's trying to push HRT on them. Sometimes it's like a juice/HRT info.-mercial when I go to the gym n' he's there. I'll ask him what he thinks, or knows about type 1 today, and get back to you.
