i think this is the right place for this, and hopefully i can get some advice or something out of this... anyways, i'm a male (had to change the thing to post here cuz this seems like the most logical place for this) and i'm concerned about my girlfriend's health...

she's 5'2", 128 lbs, and has rather large "assets" (DDDD i think). she's convinced that she needs to be at most 115, and that she's fat. she says she hates almost everything about her body. personally, i don't feel there is anything wrong with her body, sure she doesn't have a washboard stomach but i don't feel there is anything wrong with her current one. I've looked up height/weight ratio charts online and all have targets of around 125.

anyways, the most alarming part of this for me, is her solution for this. working out 4 consecutive days a week, for 4 hours each of the first 2 days, 1 hour the next, and 2 hours on the last. on top of that, she's eating less. somedays she skips meals completely. she already has to watch what she eats because she has 12 ulcers and acid reflux. she insists there is nothing wrong with the situation or her solution. i love this girl, but i feel so helpless because everything i've tried, she seemingly ignores. i try everything i can to make her feel good about herself and i try reasoning with her about this but all my attempts have been futile thus far. when i told her the thing about the chart she said it was "bullshit" and "not funny", when i was completely serious and just trying to show her that she's not going about this the right way at all... any advice? comments? anything?

first...stop looking at height/weight ratio charts as a reference point... BF% is a better way to assess how much weight the girl has to lose.

second... not eating is counterproductive. A much better, and healthier option is to eat 5-6 small meals a day (every 2.5-3 hours).

third... 4 hours at the gym is a bit much... but it's very hard to tell someone who is as determined as she sounds that shes doing it "wrong"... suggest that she work out 5 times a week for an hour each time. I find that cardio on an empty stomach or after a weight training session works best to lose weight.

fourth... it's very very hard to change a girl's mind about her body... if she doesn't like it the way it is, i think the best option is to let her mold it into something she is happy with (within reason)...
