Help please...registering a domain name

2 Questions:

1) When you register a domain name with a company are they the ones who provide you with email addresses for that domain or is it the host that provides you with the email address?

3) Why is it that some sites will allow you to register a name for £2.99 while others charge £20 for the same name? Does it really matter who you register the domain name with?

Thanks.

a. you get your email addresses from whoever host's your site. sometimes you'll get a small site with 5 email addys and other times you'll get a small or medium site with 100 email addys. or thereabouts.

b. sometimes when you register a domain name, they also plan on hosting the site for you- that's why they might charge more.

getting the DN registered is only the begining - the more expensive companies provide better management tools

some full service companies like Register.com have great tools, provide a full range of add-ons like an email address, and are worth the extra few bux a year

Ok thanks...so just to clarify, it doesn't matter who i register the domain name with (even if it's some cheap 2.99deal) but it does matter who i host it with?
