Help Please - Diet Q

Suspension

New member
Ok, here is the deal. Im lean. 8% or so. My goal is to get down to 6% BF within a few months. Over the last few weeks, Ive dropped my carbs down 50g/wk, while keeping protein high (350g/day), with moderate-low fats (mostly omega's and meat fats). I have not been using any carb up days, and im currently not losing any strength, even on 200g/d of carbs (im used to 500-600g/day!).

Now, I dont have the greatest knowledge in the world on dieting, because i have always ate balanced meals with much success. Im looking for a little advice here on how to continue. Ive been doing great over the last few weeks and wanna keep it up..

-Should I add carb up days?
-Am I doing the right kind of diet for mainting muscle mass and losing BF?

Please help bro's. Thanks..

By the way, I train 5x/wk, no longer than 40 minutes a session, and i do cardio (20 minutes, 3x/wk after training MWF).
Also, im 5'10" 210 @ 8%

I don't understand how many carbs 50 a day or 500 a week?

At this point the types of food you eat will have a huge impact on your physique.

ive been dropping my carbs by 50g/wk.

FOr example...

started out about 500g/day (for each day of the week), next week it would be 450g/day (for each day of the week), etc.

some more info.

im eating 7-8 meals a day, with a little bit of carbs mixed in w/protein. also, im watching my sodium intake quite a bit.

All of my carbs are Low-GI carbs, with the exeption of my post workout drink, which is 'ultra fuel' (80grams, high and low GI).

I get a mixture of protein sources everyday..mostly chicken, tuna, eggs, whey, lean beef (93%).

Sounds good, at this point you should consider adding lots of fiber to your diet from veggies and Metamucil.

I hope you're taking a multi vitamin, if not add it because without it you won't get very far.

Make sure Calcium intake is somewhat adequate as well.

Vitamins:

Multi-V
ALA (2-3g/day)
Vit-E 800iu
Vit-C 2-3g
Flax (good fats)
MSM (joints)
NAC (anti-ox)
Ginger (Digestion)
creatine
whey
glutamine

Any advice? think i should stay @ 200g or drop my carbs lower?

I add all-bran fiber (1/4cup to the last 3 meals of the day)

200 grams right now..yes.

ive been reading on ckd, and am interested in that.

Drop down to 150-160 and you will see very good results. Take most of your carbs before training. That way you'll have more energy to train and you keep your intensity and size/strength.

Even half your post workout shake can be taking before your workout,

Excellent.

Personnally, I don't see good results until I drop to about 160grams. That's the number I like to stay at, I feel good and can still train hard. Find your number.

What you can do is eat 180g on training days and 120g on non-training days for example.

As for your post workout shake, I think 80grams is a bit to much...but it's okay for now, but eventually as you get leaner, you'll need to lower that to 50-60grams.

Also no MRP. Those are physique killers.

Thanks for the advice Big Andy!

Should I add carb up days?

I think a carb up day is a good idea every 10-12 days if you are not using any thyroid meds or strong stimulants like clen.

Keep them clean and moderate...300grams or so.
