Help on cycle for torn pec

New member
So I tore my pec about a year and a half ago. Doctor said it was a partial tear after I had the MRI so I went 2 months no activity to start off. Then did some pt for a few months. Now no matter what I do it how light I lift it always bothers me. It's also now starting to affect my bicep and shoulder lifts. Doctor said surgeory would be an unlikely fix because oF the way its torn and he says to just leave it. Im at a dead end and need this thing fixed. My friend said I should run an 8 week cycle of test and it would most likely heal the pec. I am open for this option because at this point I'll do anything. My worries are that I've heard that steroids weaken your tendons and the point where it hurts the most is the connection between the bicep and pectoral. My friend insists that it will not affect that but I'm not sure. Also I've always been a supporter of nat lifting so my other concern is if I took a cycle, how could I fix this pec without getting bloated and "huge". I am 22, 5' 11", 200 lbs, pretty ripped and veiny and I do not want to lose that. I am ok with gaining some muscle but I would like to avoid having to take a post cycle. Any advice?

Your friend is an idiot for suggesting testosterone will heal a torn muscle. If the doc thinks you cant be fixed get a 2nd opinion from an orthopaedic specialist. If that guy thinks you cant be fixed, well then sometimes life isnt fair.

I have gotten I second opinion from another orthopedic specialist. He also said that surgery might fix it but if it didn't it would be an expensive waste. Do I have any other options? Any supplements that might help? I can't take no for an answer lifting is a part of my life there must be something. Could test possibly help? Maybe heal the muscle over time?

Your friend is not an idiot per say, he just doesnt know...

GH might help regrow what was torn, but it sounds like you just have recovery left to do that neither steroids nor supplements will fix.

Even though It's been almost two years? I can't see how it would take this long. I never even work chest that's why this whole thing doesn't make any sense. Could it be that it's not recovering because my chest is flexed and incorporated in other muscle exercises?

yes GH will help repair it, as that is what is already in your body. testosterone is also in your body, you don't need to shut yourself down in the process to heal it.

let it heal. 2 months is nothing.. not sure what you are complaining about, every athlete has had to deal with injuries. just work on other muscle parts until you heal up, why are you not in the gym busting your legs?

some dude i know blew out his knee playing flag football of all things. couldn't work out his legs for 6 months while in a cast and on crutches so he worked his upper body out like a madman.. then once his leg healed up he was a beast

Two YEARS. Not months. But yea I would agree that hgh would help heal your chest. I see where you are coming from with wanting it to heal, but sometimes natural is the best way bro when it comes to healing. The human body is an amazing machine. See what it can do naturally first.

HGH may help you some but is no cure. My advice is to address a tear like this immediately.
I personally would have done the surgery right after it happened if I truly needed it and
maybe some added HGH during PT and recovery but at 22 your natural HGH levels should be strong.

I have been going crazy on legs. Got my squat to about 405 for 5 solid. Which is higher than I I've ever been. But remember I said 2 YEARS not months. So you can under stand my frustration at this point. Even after months of NO activity in the beginning then several months of NO pressing movements after that, still unable to do any chest without pain. Plus doctors don't really know what's wrong? I refuse to sit here and have a torn pec the rest of my life when I used to be the " bench guy", repping 315 for 10 at 190 lbs. I understand that natural is the best form of healing I just think that at this point it should have been healed. By the way thanks for all input guys. I'm thinking I might go get it checked out again and maybe consider the procedure. How much do those run? How bout the suturing technique?

You should be sqautting so much you should have hemorhoids the size of a sperm whale! Just work on other body parts bro.

Just let it recover. Although gh would help if you can get it and use it responsibly.

Ok will do. Now how much would the gh cost me and how long would I have to run it? Also would it have any bad sides,

I'm a registered nurse and one of my jobs is at an acute care rehab. You need PT and rest. The tear will probably heal on its own as long as the tendons/ligaments aren't torn. if they are you LIKELY need surgery and you should seek the opinion of at LEAST 2 more doctors. find a doctor you like, come up with a plan with him and follow it. Medicine is called a "practice" for a reason, it isn't a true science as people think. Medicine uses science as a tool, but 90% of medicine is trial and error, you just need to commit to healing yourself and put sterioids and lifting out of your head until you can fix your body.

I tore my pec about a year ago. The only way to heal is through surgery. I tried HGH with test and decca for nearly 5 months...nothing.
I used to bench close to 500 lbs before the tear. Now 225 lbs make me go lobsided. But who needs chest when you have arms like mine!!! Always look at the bright side lol

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. Im gunna get on this and have a healed chest, freakish arms, and sperm whale legs in no time!!!

If it's been two years and it hasn't healed it's well past time for second opinion. I'm actually going in for surgery next week for a complete tear...torn muscle from tendon for my right pec. My doc gave me some great literature and info on different tears. The way he explained it to me is that the only time it's inoperable is if it's tear involving muscle-muscle.....then it can't be repaired surgically. The other two common cases....tendon off bone, muscle off tendon can be fixed surgically with tendon off bone being the easiest to repair and rehab from. As for your friends advice.....neither roids nor GH will heal a torn pec.....they can both definitely help with the healing process after surgery, but they're not the cure what you're looking for. Find another doc.
