Help needed for muscle gains

What are truly the best supplements you can get that will add lean muscle mass (if any) age 29. I have stopped making progress with my workouts. For some reason everything has come to a screeching halt. I've been weight training now for 12 months 2 x per week, every week. However I do sometimes take extra days off for added recovery if needed. Not ready for gear quite yet, I consider it the major last resort. At this point I want to go as far as I can with only proper diet, good training, and supps that really do work. As everyone knows supplements can be very expensive and wasting money is no fun. I'm almost starting to think that supplements don't really do much which is why so many start to try other avenues to get the results they need. Any advise or recommendations on a good powerful supplements that are known to really work (need results)??

Currently using:

I don't really feel these are working that well for me. I don't get sick or anything like that however I have not had any increases in muscle gains or strength since I started taking these. That has been around 2 months now so, I think if they were going to do anything it should be visible within 2 months time.

Nitrotech Protein power [1 gram per pound weight]
Creatine Titrate [10 grams workout / 5 grams days off]
AST Multivitiamin

Hi there jazzie. I'm about your age myself, 27, and I'll tell you what has worked for me personally as far as supplements go.

For supplements, I've used CellTech and NitroTech to start. I saw good results from them after 2 months of use but then things hit a ceiling.

Next I decided to try prohormones. Since you said you are not ready for gear, have you considered prohormones? I started taking 1-AD stacked with 4-AD. I did a 6 week cycle of this stuff and I can tell you it worked for me like a son of a bitch. I gained size and strength and all my friends asked if I was doing juice. This all happened to me in April 2002. I waited 3 months and did a second, identical 1-AD, 4-AD cycle. This time however, I gained hardly any weight and just a little strength. After that and up until the present, I've pretty much stayed the same while continuing to work out. I personally think my body is spent on supplements and I've pretty much gotten to my max weight and strength level that I can naturally. This is why I've now decided to take the next step and go with gear. I'll be starting my first cycle in the coming months.

Some people curse prohormones but I know for a fact they worked for me quite well, especially the first time I took them. You might want to give them a shot if you are not ready for gear yet. Good luck in your efforts. Just keep trying new and different things. You'll find something that works for you eventually.

Jazzie.. I am 28 and tried just about everything. Ive been suckered into all those ads (celltech/muscletech) and the only results I got was an upset stomach.

3 years ago I used to weight 120lbs. no shit. I am 5`10.. so thats some serious skin and bones. I am now 175 and work out 5 days a week religiously.

What I have found to work really well is Muscle Milk (Peach Mango) and Pinnacles Juiced Creatine (orange). Instead of doing the dosage of 2 scoops of muscle milk, I use 3 for the extra protein. I also add a scoop of creatine with my musclemilk.

This combo is by far the best tasting protein drink I have had. I drink it 3 times a day (morning, b4 work out, and after workout)
I have noticed some serious strength with this combo.
I can notice a difference if I just drink 1 protein shake a day from 2 or 3 in the gym.

I am still making good gains (last week I was around 170lbs) I am by far not near my goal, but im working on it. I am just about to try some mythl-1-test and a good post cycle to go along with it.

Also... take a multi-vitamin such as GNC's Mega Men. GNC is overpriced crap, but that is the only good product I would recommend.

hope this helps you out bro.

Thanks guys,

SnarlingForce, I certainly understand your decision to take it to the next level. I'm actually excited for you and I hope it works out great.

It's good to know I'm not the only one out there trying hard but not getting the best results quite yet. I've been reading up on the prohormones and also the mythl-1-test. Even though they have there advantages and disadvantages they are certainly something to consider. I appreciate the suggestions. So much out there all claiming to give you the big gains, it's just crazy.
