Help me pick a SPorts Car. $8,000 budget.

Dont get a firebird, you are looking at a V6 if you picked up one of those. The only models with the V8 are the Formula and the TransAm.

Here is one,

I have a 98 with 113k on the clock and I have had few mechanical problems with the car. I picked it up with 36k on it and I have driven it hard since I have had my hands on it. I am surprised at how lucky I was to have not had problem after problem and many people told me I would. I have had to change out the water pump, headlight motors (pieces of shit), will be replacing a window motor soon, and I had the tranny rebuilt with a few extras. Other than that it has been great.

Slap on a good set of headers, exhaust, intake and if you've got the cash a tune and you can be around 330-340hp. Tune is really not necessary, but if you plan on getting a cam and some heads wait to do the tune.

Subaru Impreza RS with a 2.5 liter engine. The 99's are around $7-8K and are very easily tweaked to haul ass.

Time for me to get a new *used car. I have about $8,000 I'm willing to spend for one.

I want to get a sporty fast coupe type car. So Camaro's, Firebirds, or Mustangs and the such.

So far I'm looking at a 99 Firebird. Anybody have any other suggestions?

I don't think I want a mustang, because everyone and there mother has one. My best-friend drives a camaro, so I don't wanna get one of those either. And Plus I think firebird's look cool as shit.

You guys suggest any other cars in this price range? Or any pro's / cons about firebirds?

thanks
those will all get terrible gas milieage.

How about a used mitsubishi eclipse, or and even older toyota supra>
