I've got to give a 5 min informative speech in a communications class Wednesday. its got to be business related. i want to do something people in the class will actually give a fuck about. they are 19-25 years old, juniors in college. i was thinking about doing US oil interest in middle east and how it effects our war. i know i'm interested in the carlisle group and all that shit, but i'm not sure if anyone else is.

or mabye explain how and why pro athletes are paid millions while teachers and firefighters dont get paid shit.

i hate it when people bitch about pro athletes making so much money.

what do you think? i'm not afraid to speak in front of a class, but i dont want people falling asleep and shit.

How about the growth and popularity of bulletin boards on the internet, and how when you develop your on screen personna, most people tend to have delusions of grandeur. Much like needleboy.

if you want up to date you can focus on the steel industry thing thats going on

good intro ideas..

my prof said its a good idea to get peoples attention by telling a joke making a statement that peaks peoples curiosity.

i though about doing a speech on sexual harassment and opening by running though a list of sexually harassing terms to refer to breasts.

the first thing out of my mouth: "tits, cans, jugs, hooters, boobs, rack, and melons. all slang expressions referring to female breasts that can result in an employer nightmare - a sexual harassment lawsuit."

that would wake some fuckers up.

The disentegration of trust between employees and company execs since the ENRON debacle. It was bad before now it is just down right militant!

ONe thing that your college juniors will probably care about is how the economy is starting to pick up, and by the time they graduate---they will be graduating in a much better economy than we have now.

You could use this to discuss the pro's of the economic stemulous package as Steroid Virgin said coupled with the current signals of economic recovery--IE, decreased jobless numbers released last week and decreased lay-off numbers released last week.

after all, that is why we are in college--to eventually get a job.(well, most of us(well, some of us:D ))
