Help making a claim

So I was all pumped up to be sending some money off for a friend to buy a main part of my cycle. My distributor said that he wanted cash to be sent. So I wrapped the cash up in about 5 sheets of heavy paper and thought lets send this off. Now here it is 1 1/2 months later and all the post office can say is that they can't find it. Imagine that. It is insured for $500 becaause it was global express but I need to know what do I put on the claim form so I can get back the money that was inside. They have already told me that they don't refund if someone puts cash in an envelope. What has everyone else tried that has worked. I know $500 might not sound like much but it was to me. Any help anyone can give on success stories I would love. Thanks Bros.

All the post office says is that they received it and that it is now misplaced. No one got a chance to sign for it. I want to make a claim but want to find out what others have used and it has worked. Hard to believe nobody has gotten this done.

Thats sucks sorry! Thats like getting a seizure note and loosing it before you make a copy to send off to resend your gear.
