been lurking for a while, decided to sign up today. seems like a good source of info for certain. just to introduce myself, i'll give a bit of history...
i started training back in 94, when i was 21. i was 6'3" and 180 pounds; not too impressive lol. i started out in a hardcore gym, so it didn't take long for me to realize that i was going to get nowhere without gear. i suppose after 8 months or so of natural training i did my first cycle, some testarona 200 or something i believe.
at about 283 pounds and 10%, i had spent the last 6 years dedicating my every waking minute to the game. i had what i considered to be a good split, hitting every body part about once a week except legs, which i hit about twice a week. i ate by the clock, every 2.5 hours. my daily diet usually consisted of 1 lb. ground beef, 1 lb. chicken, i dozen eggs, 4 cups cooked rice, oatmeal, turkey sandwiches, 4 cans of tuna, and various protein supplements. i also ate out somewhere every day. i was getting my calories, as i was after all out size...
as for the gear, let's just say that i have used just about every thing there was/is, barring some of the exotics. never got into any growth or insulin. i suppose i was on shit for about 6 years straight, with small breaks in between here and there. my best cycle ever in terms of strength was test supsension/anadrol/winstrol, and my best weight gainer was cyp/dbol/deca.
i was an ok bodybuilder. not the best genetics by any stretch, as i have very long limbs and a short trunk, and my knees could be smaller IMO. i began to realize that in order to step on stage and compete with the shorter guys, i was going to have to weigh at least 300 lbs. in the off season, as i counted on dropping about 40 for a show. this realization and the frustration i was feeling with my overall life situation led me to get out of the game. i don't cast judgement on anyone else for their decisions or lifestyle, it just so happened at that time that i needed a change.
i moved to another city, started partying all the time, developed a drug habit, and before i knew it i had lost sixty pounds of muscle in a year. obviously i wasn't training lol. blah blah blah i was a loser... not the best transformation!
then, in 2002, i decided to get my life back. i went back to school, got various certifications for the IT field, lost the drug habit, and started training again. got a good job, almost got married, and now, three years later, here i sit at 210 lbs, 8%. i have had a complete blood workup; everything is completely normal from top to bottom.
natural training sucks. the sad part is that i have gotten used to it. i have suffered a separated shoulder (now healed) and foot surgery, which have really put me back in terms of the meager progress i have been making these last few years.
so... methinks it's time to do something again.
cheers to all,
