Hello my dears, I am back!

It wasn't helped by the fact we were staying in our trailer (a teardrop). The damn things were designed by a company that's based in Wisconsin. GREAT for cold weather camping, but a bitch in the heat. I couldn't sleep. I honestly felt sick most of the vacation. The trailer has an air conditioner but it's such a small space that you're either freezing or sweltering.

I wish I'd known I could get a hotel room for basically what we paid at Myrtle Beach state park. We weren't that far from the beach but got ZERO breeze. I kind of expected it to be like N. Carolina outer banks but live and learn.
Oh snap, you talking bout the place there where they have the golf cart strip at night and all the kids cruise the lil beach strip on their golf carts and stuff.

Saw golf carts in the campground, but not on the beach. It's the beach with the big tall fishing pier. There's a Myrtle Beach (where we were) and North Myrtle Beach. Huntington Beach state park is about 11 miles south (I really wanted to go there, but forget it, continually booked solid).

Oh, and we didn't know Myrtle Beach state park is directly under a municipal airport fly zone ... the planes mostly stopped from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (the air conditioner drowned them out anyway).

Been to a camp ground there, kinda south of myrtle called Pirates Cove, I think.

Back from a land of Spanish moss and magnolias, back from a place of the memories of rice plantations and oak lined lanes ... Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's been nearly a month I've been gone ... two weeks were spent on vacation, the rest I've spent inside my head. Can't say I learned anything ...

South Carolina ... lemme tell you, kids, that is one hot, humid muthufucka. Seriously. I'm talking sweat your balls off, do not even think about touching me, hot. And it's only May. Frig that, next time I'll go in April.

Beautiful and very different from Pennsylvania but it was a very, very weird vacation in ways I can't explain.

Oh, and we bought a new (used) car. A 2003 Toyota Highlander. Trust hubbie and I to buy a new car 4 days before traveling 500 miles from home towing most of our worldly goods.

BTW, I don't recommend camping at Myrtle Beach State Park ... well, unless you like airplanes (great beach, great pier, unfortunately it's under a municipal airport flight path ... funny they didn't mention that on their site).

So tell me, my darlings, what have I missed? Fill me in on the general dish and dirt. Who is banned? Who has returned? Who is perma-banned? Who quit voluntarily and who is ghosted? Who do I need to stop looking for and who has become, like the cat hair in my house, everywhere whether I want it or not?

And yes, dears, I'm witchier than ever

I'm back too!
